Well, his three point shooting so far is better than expected. We have not figured out how to get him easy looks right at the basket like GS did though. And overall I'm not too impressed with his defense. He's definitely not going to be in the running for top ten defender in the league.
Defense is about team awareness. When 3 out of the 5 can't recognize when they need to help, Gary isn't going to look good.
The Blazers spent more on him than any other team was willing to... why would those teams both pay his salary and give up any value for him when they didn't/wouldn't sign him before? Especially given he's been hurt?
That's kinda how free agency works, isn't it? Players sign with the team who offers them the most money. Most get traded at some point after being a free agent.
Agreed. Not a fan of the amount of money spent on him for what the team is getting (common theme with this roster) but if they didn't spend it, they would lose it. Hopefully they can turn him into another piece. Golden State players and fans would LOVE to have him back. Just a hint though to Niel and now Joe. When over half your team isn't any bigger than a halfway decent city league team, you might struggle in the NBA.
