Can we never sing any ex golden state warrior player ever again? Festus and now Ezil have been god awful signings for us.

You don't have to like Aldo but he's 100000000% right about GP2. Dude is a big snitch and came only to Portland because the Blazers offered him the biggest bag, but he never wanted to be here, and i'm sure he faked injurys.

Depends on how you define the “Bay Area”. Is Santa Clara in the Bay Area?

If the second round picks might not convey when they are lower than #45 thats fine. Nearly all the value of a second round pick is with it being in the 31-45 range.

But if their protected so the Blazers don't get them if their in the 31-45 range then its worth next to nothing.

Still would like to see a good list of what the Blazers acquired on draft day and what they have in total for future picks.

False. My posts are not "always being negative". I've been one of the loudest Sharpe fans on this forum and applaud the Blazers/Cronin/Jody for drafting him. I call out the team when they make stupid decisions. If you want to read delusion homer fans that spin everything as rainbows and sunshine then yeah I don't do that.

Maybe I have been more negative the last few years, but that coincides with the teams negative performance. When your franchise is failing its its objectives for multiple seasons I don't see how anyone objective can be constantly positive?

Where did I imply Cronin would be a good GM if he was a dick without a working relationship?

Giving Cronin an excuse for making poor moves because he is a "rookie" GM and doesn't yet have a "relationship" with other GM's is ridiculous and I called it out as such. Cronin made statements saying he had all the necessary experience for these responsibilities; so either its a stupid fan justification or Cronin is misrepresenting his abilities. I believe its the former.

Cronin can be judged by the merit of his roster moves, same as every other GM in the league. If you and others don't agree with that its your issue... its' not rational fans "always being negative"

    Bottom line, he used Portland.

Cronin & Co. got played by a journeyman level player

Only pick that’s probably not good is the 2026 top 42 protected from grizzlies. Otherwise the others are good value

Luckily the Blazers got something out of it in the end as well with these second round picks. Are the picks worth the opportunity cost of signing a different free agent instead of GP2 and not being hard capped? You could make an argument either way. But ultimately the Blazers haven't had a clear loss as can be the case with many free agents (ie Ezili, Turner, Meyers, etc)

Golden State ultimately lost Wiseman for nothing and could've just given GP2 his current contract in the summer. So some would say they got played as well.

The thing I find odd is supposedly Dame was such a proponent of the GP2 signing and had a good relationship with GP2.

Just put him on ignore. He’s like the combat warrior homer.

Someone needs to issue Strennus a badge.

Really? If Grant leaves for a contract the Blazers don't want to pay, then Cronin gives up five 2nd round picks to get back that very same player, who got played?

Lol I was drinking last night when I wrote that. But my point is that ex warrior players we pick up have been poison for us.

I have to admit I am not understanding this "he got played" or "he did not get played" angst. Building an NBA roster given the limited resource of talent (players), the need to adhere to strict and complicated rules (CBA) and the inexact science of fit within a scheme and roster, plus development and the fact that the resource is human - you are going to have some wins, you are going to have some losses.

The Blazers correctly identified a need given the fact that Dame (especially with Ant next to him) are the foundation of the team. On paper, GP2 fills that hole perfectly and the Blazers were able to do it using a relatively small amount of the CAP (in NBA terms). In reality, because of some unknown issues - including health (inherent in the human condition) it did not work out and the Blazers pivoted quick.

This is inexact science, and it was a small investment that did not pay-off and the Blazers have found a replacement (MT) that hopefully works better and got back a bunch of 2nd round picks that might help in the future. Seems like a reasonable course of action.

You identify a problem, you try a solution, if it works, great, if not, you adjust and try something else. Exactly what the Blazers did. That's just normal, smart problem solving technique.

Around the 7:05 mark or so - the rumor is that the Blazers really worked GSW to get each and every last one of these 2nd round picks.

Are the Blazers working to steal the seemingly multi decade dominance of the Kings and Wolves as the worst western conference destinations and worst run organizations?

Shocking that we have an All-NBA Dame here, in one of his best seasons ever, yet still have this dynamic.

Was this sarcasm? This IMO was the most terrible move at the deadline. We could've had James Weisman...

No, the overpay would've been JAMES WEISMAN...
