Not really. Hamas was created when Fatah agreed in principal to the two-states solution (I believe you started hearing them about that in the 70s and it basically became "official" in the early 90s). Hamas is basically the radical arm of the original PLO which never accepted Israel's right to exist. At least this is my understanding. IIRC, After the Oslo agreement in the mid-90s - Hamas pretty much broke out of the PLO - which lead Arafat to back out of the Oslo agreement because he was worried he would lose the PLO leadership position. This basically caused for a large portion of the Israeli population to distrust the Palestinians and Bibi and his right leaning government came into power and things have gone pretty much downhill from there. (The Oslo agreement gave the Palestinians the right for self rule as a starting point to the 2-state solution for recognition of Israel's right to exist, which Hamas basically broke by taking over the Gaza strip). The Hamas document basically say the following: "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam invalidates it, just as it invalidated others before it" There is an awful lot of bad stuff happening there and a lot of awful things happening to poor people in Gaza, but if you want to point a finger at the root cause of the situation - it is pretty much Hamas breaking an agreement and things going bad since. (Not that the settlements and radicalization of the right leaning Israeli government do good, but they are the reaction, not the cause).
Abby Martin: "30 Dead Kids, Biden, You F**king Monster!" on Biden's Unwavering Support of Israel. Not trying to trigger anyone here. This is their title.
A Plea from Gaza: Israel Bombing Campaign Is Turning My Homeland into a “Wasteland”. America looks the other way when it is one of our "allies" doing the oppression.
The tribal mentality with aggression will never solve problems that prevent people from working together for peace and harmony. Doesn't mean there cannot be disagreement in civil ways or debate, but to ratchet everything up to the point of hate and violence in a country that is built on an idea of freedoms of speech, religion and opportunities is a recipe for disaster.
