I went back and looked at his You Tube highlights. He really does have some incredible dunks. I think we may be selling him short. At the very least he will be fun to watch. Here are 49 dunks from 2013-14. Most were a little boring because they were so easy. But it sure would be nice to see some "easy" baskets for a change:
First off, it looks like he goes up with two hands almost every time and is a quick leaper. That's going to be a contrast from Wes. Second, Josh McRoberts is a pretty good passer based on those highlights.
I took two things away from that video 1. Does Henderson have small hands? He goes up with two hands almost every time. Not a criticism, just an observation 2. McBob is a really good passer
the first thing I see is this innate ability to sort of "sneak" behind the D, then get a nice dunk and the other team all looks at one another like "how the hell did he do that?" I enjoy this quality.
I'm liking the movement off the ball too - something the blazers have sorely lacked the last few years is a guy on the wing who knows how to dive to the rim. Hendo appears to have that knack and timing (understanding that these are highlights)
My goodness the guy has lift. I like that he is careful in how he lands. I was going to comment on the delightful passing on most of those dunks, and, wow, McRoberts was responsible for most of them, but everyone else beat me to it. I hope to god we see that kind of cutting and passing this season.
Gerald has talent; however, he was at a disadvantage playing with the rosters MJ put together. Gerald’s game needs shooters around him to spread the floor. He did not have any shooters in Charlotte. Hopefully, with Dame making threes, he should have more room to work, and his game should show improvement.
its there, just not done very much (read well) also looks to have a little bit of that clutch shot ability in his bag
Yeah I think it's there as well. I was looking at his box scores from last year. I saw a lot of 1-1 or 0-2's for him. I think he does it well enough to keep the D honest. 3 pt shooting is always nice, but we desperately needed another player besides Dame and CJ who will attack the rim. We did not get that from Wes or Nic. This 30 pt game shows his whole repertoire
Word. Olshey and his team know what's up. People think we could have gotten more for Nico but considering he's only got one year left on contract I think we did well.
