Good question. If we are horrific then I doubt he will want to come back. He has been on bad teams his whole career only playing in 4 playoff games. If the future looks bleak after the first half of the season then we should probably trade him at the deadline to a contender. Either way Neil, Gerald, and his agent need to have a honest discussion at the all star break.
has there been any updates on Henderson's surgery rehab? its been a month now since the blazer twitter announcements, but could not find any follow ups.
To me Henderson has better skill set then Mattews does and this is the reason Henderson has better handles then Mattews. Mattews play good defense but very limit to the 3 ball on offense he trouble take any body off the dribble and Wasnt a good assit man. Henderson is person that can take people off the dribble and also occasional knock down the 3 ball an play decent defense.
Henderson brings something Wes never really did..handles and the ability to finish hard at the rim or finish the fast break. Wes was the better catch and shoot guy and a better defender on the ball. He bricked his fair share of layups and didn't finish well in traffic more often than not. What you can't replace with Wes is his vocal coaching on the defensive end of the court. He was a leader. Henderson, not so much.
Wes can post up but he didn't do it enough and i believe he was effective in stotts offense due to affect the players around him and yes he was a great leader but I also heard that Henderson was pretty good leader too. Wes had pie rating of 10.0 and Henderson was I believe was 9.4. So there not that far apart and it could due to what team they were playing with at the time.
I'm happy with the Henderson signing. He's a high character guy with varied skills. Stotts said he shoots the corner threes at a very high percentage and he can really drive the lanes. Has quick hands on defense. We tend to value Wes pre injury and forget that he's got a tough road ahead with the Achilles recovery.
