Turner is a far better OVERALL player than Henderson, and I loved Henderson

    Turner.

For those who are happy about losing Hendo, we lost him for nothing in return. And adding Turner to last year's roster is a bigger improvement than adding Turner and losing one or more players from last year's roster.

It's basically trading Hendo at 9M/Year for Turner at 17.5M/Year.

I don't know if I make that deal, but whatever.

    1st year is more 16,3M than 17,5M.

I had in mind all season that Henderson would walk this summer. He was brought in as a stop gap if CJ hadn't blown up. I think we shift focus to a backup PG now.

    I would.

I figure the Blazers' front court had the biggest glaring weakness and thus need.

I liked Hendo for this team because he's a starting caliber SG/SF (he started most of his career) coming off the bench - better than having some project in his place, IMO. But he wasn't the answer for the front court weaknesses.

I see Turner being our starting SF, and no matter how much I like Aminu and Harkless, I am quite sure Turner is the better player of the three. And I think that Aminu at PF and Turner at SF is a big improvement in the front court, and that Plums' skills at C fit that lineup extremely well.

    Actually, me too.

When we traded for Hendo, I wrote that he was a $6M expiring contract and it was a really good deal by Neil for that reason. He did prove valuable on the court, too.

Do we need a backup point if we have Turner? He played extensive periods with Boston as PG.

I think that is the exact reason that POR was willing to pay him higher then most of us are liking. Love the player. Not thrilled with the contract but I understand why.

Kaman cant play anymore. Hendo can. And 9 million a year is a good deal for him

We wouldn't have any minutes for him, so we would basically be using our remaining cap space on him so that we can trade him. And teams would know that we were retaining him to trade him so the value would be extremely low. Neil tried to trade Hendo before the deadline too, and nothing happened.

Im not saying i was dead set on keeping him. It just sucks to let a talented player go, when it was cheap(in comparison to say, evan turner) to resign him. Makes the batum trade look even worse.

Is David Kahn the new Philly GM? Lots of former Blazer point guards in one place...

There's a reason why Turner is worth more than Hendo.

    Hendo sucks.

I disagree. At 9 million per year he is good value in the new world. Guess we will see this upcoming year if turner was worth it.

Interesting comparison; despite more points per 36 minutes, Hendo and Turner had the exact same Offensive BPM, while Turner also had a much better Defensive BPM.
