He'll no doubt claim he was misquoted (by himself). What he REALLY meant to say is "we're sending Pat". Meaning Patty Mill is the player that will be included in the trade to make the salaries match. BNM
Yeah that guy was an idiot, but John Lund is driving me crazy too today. Basically he is saying it is CP3 or bust. No other type of trade is worthwhile. Well then be prepared to be disappointed...
thats a lot to give up don't you think? Gerald Wallace won't be that good. And Augustine still hasn't proved himself to me. I liked the devin harris trade but bringing in gerald wallace isn't that great to me.
Link So what everyone is saying is this can't be true because the salaries don't match? Like the last sentence.
So we have "too good to be true" or "no good" It means I'm probably closer to somewhere in the middle.
UPDATE 3:51 pm: It looks like it is a done deal — Gerald Wallace has been traded to the Portland Trail Blazers, according to a tweet from the well connected Dwight Jaynes. (No other confirmations, yet, but he is a good source.) Jaynes is the only one pushing this thing.
Pay no attention to the noob. The "too good to be true" is about right. I don't see any chance in hell that CHA gives up Augustin for Rudy + garbage.
no i just don't like the gerald wallace trade in the first place. I think it'd be good if we got augustine and left wallace out
Jesus, if the source is Jaynes then no other names have been given in the trade, but it has been "confirmed" that other players are involved. The major pieces are being mentioned. That's how it usually works when a trade first breaks.
Source close to situation still says "nothing to confirm" regarding Blazers trade for Gerald Wallace being "done" as of 1:30 PM PST
This. If not, his thin credibility takes a massive, massive hit. However, if he's the one that really breaks this news, then his credibility takes a substantial up-tick. Big moment for the baldfather.
And what's funnier still is the text of Jaynes' tweet: So his "source" from some other team (not CHA or POR, presumably) says his team believes that the deal is done. Does that even qualify as third-hand speculation?
