It would be amazing to get him around Thomas, Camby, Aldridge and Buck.

The article makes sense, but remember we surrounded Sheed with a bunch of solid veterans. Smith, Pippen, Sabas and even Augman couldn't contain Wallace. What makes it any different for Cousins? The games I have seen, he is extremely easy to goat. You can piss him off and lead him to believe that 20 footer is a much better shot than his teammate "wide-open" under the basket.

I don't have a doubt he will eventually grow up, like Sheed did the last 4 seasons of his career; but can our team wait that long?

Sheed was the best player on the team, and was supposed to be the "go to guy". We had little leverage over him because he was needed on the floor as much as possible.

Cousins, OTOH, would only be the second-most talented big on the team (third if you count Oden), and would probably be third on the depth chart behind Aldridge and Camby. IMO, the circumstances would be much more conducive to him being receptive to positive influence.

Sheed's most memorable moments as a Blazer were throwing towel into Sabas' face and disappearing in the 4th quarter of Game 7 against the Lakers.

Sheed never grew up, btw. He just got less Ts called against him with Larry Brown coaching him instead of Mike Dunleavy.

And I would take Sheed any day of the week over Cousins.

Rasheed got along great with his teammates, was a willing passer, welcomed coming off the bench, and was a good defender. Do you think Cousins would be happy coming off the bench if he was considered the teams best player? No chance in hell. You can't compare Rasheed at all to Cousins.

Rasheed had issues; horrible interactions with the media and fans, lack of a killer instinct, and bone head decisions with officials. It was frustrating to watch for us die hard fans but he was a fine influence in the locker room. Teammates loved playing with him. He was the key starter for multiple title contending teams. Cousins is a headcase that we'd have to babysit, coddle, and pamper. Nobody wants to be around Cousins.

Even his cousins hate him. He should be a referee.
