Don't change the trans fluid if it looks nasty. All the clutch material is probably floating in it.

IF it barely slips could be a sticky valve or something. Try some Seafoam Transtune

Transmission Dipstick is clean which is weird since i dont remember when i changed the fluid kast

I dont want to flush just a straight fluid exchange and filter. Read you shouldn't flush not well maintained systems since all the crud gets flushed out and damages shit.

I am thinking filter is clogged

If the fluid looks good and it slips it probably just has worn clutches. If not then I'd think a sticky spool valve. Pour the trans tune in and drive it for a few weeks and then change the fluid.

I'll probably do this. On colder mornings it took a minute or two to even shift out of first

That sounds more like sticky valves than bad clutches. Cross your fingers. My yellow focus steering would stick until warmed up and I poured some of that stuff in it and it fixed it in a few days. Then I changed the fluid. It is fine now.

I was looking around. Eventually i may Seafoam the intake for shits and giggles. Will try out the transmission and gas additive first
