No thanks. Don't want some three team deal where we don't get Giannis and are the third wheel middle man, who gets the shaft.
My thinking was Zion fits out our timeframe better and can’t see Giannis wanting to come to Blazers with us being so young.
I don't know if I want him. He's too oft injured. Been better this last season but who knows what happens. Don't like giving them back their pick. And bringing back CJ...eh
Yeah I'd just send the Pels Scoot, Ayton, the worst of the 2029 FRPs and a lotto or top 8 protected 2031 FRP for Zion and call the whole thing good before I did that convoluted thing that you have. The rumor was that the Pels were looking for two FRPs for Zion well, I think a chance to see what they can get out of Ayton along with his bird rights, getting Scoot and one pick guaranteed to convey and another very likely to would be plenty to get Zion away from them. Then move Ant to Orlando for the best value, probably draft a PG maybe a big one like Demin. Get what you can for Rob which I still think will be some value. Leave the Giannis shit out of it... at the same time I acknowledge that you were posting a reply in a Giannis trad ideas thread so all in all it's not terrible.
I don't see Giannis wanting to go to the Pelicans. Personally I'd rather not take the Zion risk unless it was a very low cost - like our lotto pick this year being the biggest item.
I'm not sure Luka for Giannis accomplishes much for the Lakers. The Lakers need to add 3-4 rotational players either way. Now if they could somehow pair Luka with Giannis yeah maybe they could just role with a bunch of vet minimum guys around them. I don't see how they would have the assets to pull off that deal though. Luka is 5 years younger. I guess Giannis contract being locked up longer is the main positive for the Lakers to swap them. But that's going to concern the Bucks or a third team.
This still feels like a Damian situation at the end of the 2021-22 Blazer season rather than 2022-23. While no one would be shocked if he asked out, of course, I'm about 80/20 on the prospect of Giannis sticking with the Bucks at least more season (which, frankly, might be good for us, as it lessens the Pelicans leverage an extra year in favor of our leverage). I think he may need a full season of internalizing the "we're going nowhere" feeling (and perhaps the Bucks do too).
I don't see any path for them to win right now. Dame is gone for at least a year. The rest of the roster is extremely mediocre. They have no assets to acquire more talent.
I am sure I would be excited if we added Giannis to the team. I think you could put him at center with his size, defense, passing, and rebounding. No doubt he would help. But 60 million a year is a lot for a player who shot 61% from the line and 22% from deep last year. So I guess I would be happy to get him and happy not to get him.
Agreed. I really like Giannis and hopes he wins another championship. I just don't think it will be with Bucks. My hope is that they give it one more shot in Milwaukee. This also gives them a reason for them to do a Grant trade.
My trade idea is to not to trade significant assets for guys near the end of their respective careers. This team has a lot of upside in it's young players and time is on their side. If they're to trade, I suspect it will be to target more young players they see upside in like they did with Toumani and continue to build a core on the same timeline. STOMP
Ok my Bad, I guess when Giannis hears we missed the last 4 playoffs but made one the year prior he'll then want to come here.
