After all that has transpired since the Fourth of July weekend fireworks accident that cost Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul his right index finger, he remains a valuable commodity. The Giants fully intend to have Pierre-Paul on their roster for the 2015 season, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media. Unauthorized to speak publicly on the situation, the person requested anonymity. Pierre-Paul currently has a one-year, $14.8 million offer on the table as the Giants' franchise player. Pierre-Paul, who had the finger amputated Wednesday, also suffered fractures in his hand, including one reportedly in his thumb that will require approximately six weeks to heal. Despite sending trainer Ronnie Barnes and player liaison Jessie Armstead to Florida for two days, the Giants still haven't spoken to Pierre-Paul, who refused to see the pair and then had the finger amputated without consulting the team. - See more at: http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2015/07/jason_pierre-paul_will_remain_with_giants_despite.html
Just PR crap. If he does nothing this year, his dumbass is gone next season and they draft a DE in the first round most likely. He's also been an unappreciative, piece of horse dung towards the Giants. Making it seem like the team that gave him 14 million dollars this year is insulting him. He's an asswipe.
Is there anything new on this? I keep hearing JPP won't sign this until he knows he can play so he isn't placed on the NFI list or he's guaranteed money for this year... seems more and more like a PIA situation from his dumb ass mistake...
There's still a lot of questions to be answered before anything can be determined. A caller into WFAN had a great point. Take your right hand palm up and look at it. Now take away y0ur right index finger and look at the gap between the thumb and middle finger. How useful is that hand going to be when it comes to grabbing people, picking up fumbles or whatever else?
