The Net's and Suns are completly different teams, so what if Nash's assists are higher? Jason Kidd's gotten around 10apg his whole career, he's been there and done that. The Nets run but the Suns offense takes it to a whole other level.

I completely agree with BCB, you don't think the Suns would be just as good with Kidd running the offense?

Jason Kidd (6'4" 210) is one of the fastest PG's in the game.

No I'd say nash is quicker. Kidd is getting slower with his age.

I'm not saying he's quicker, i'm saying he's one of the quickest. Jason Kidd has played 12,000 more minutes in his career.

So what? Kidd can not run the break the wey Nash can. Can you just accept that?

Kidd is just as fast as he was before but the team is not as much of a running team because of no Kenyon, Kittles and Williams. And for him getting worse with age, is not a true fact. The only thing that is showing that is going down is his shooting but that is just from lack of practise.Kidd has been doing this stuff his whole career and always has been in second, (NBA Finals, MVP voting). Nash has two amazing years and he's the talk of the town. His assists may be high but thats also because his teammates finish. If every Nets players finished there lay-ups, Kidd would be getting 11 also.Kidd>ArenasKidd>Nash

So Kidd is so unlucky. He has no talent to work with. Only Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CB4AllStar @ Mar 24 2006, 01:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Wow, you can play good defense. Who cares at pg? More then half of the pg's in the League aren't good defenders. If someone is having trouble with a man, just bring someone else over to helphim out. 7.6 apg is dismal compared to Kidd's standards. That is well below his average. He is slowing down, Nash is the much better passer I would say. He creates offense alot more effectively then Kidd and he can run the run and gun offense to perfection. That is because Nash has obviously improved as a pg.</div>Defense doesn't matter? That's comepletely ridiculous. Defense at the PG is just as important as any of the other positions. Just look at Dan Dickau. He was actually a pretty talented offensive player, but he couldn't defend, so he got beatout by a rookie only 7 picks away from being undrafted. Plus, who's going to try to contain the Allen Iverson's and Steve Nash's of the league. You can't just bring in a 2-guard to do that. Those guys are way quicker than 2-guards.And why are we bringing Nash into this? We're talking about Arenas and Kidd, not nash and kidd. And for the topic. I'll take Gilbert Arenas if age is a factor. But for right now, I'd take Kidd. He's a much better leader. He makes those around him better; Arenas is not much more than a scorer.

It was a bad topic so we turned it into Nash vs. kidd. Live with it. Defense does matter but it is not nearly as important as running the offense. Something Nash does very well for the Suns, better then Kidd has for the Nets.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Universe @ Mar 24 2006, 06:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I never said he had no talent around him. Then they have guys like Krstic who are good shooters at PF. He has more to work with then Nash did.

Kidd really isn't far behind Nash offensively, and he is WAY better defensively.

Steve Nash is actually has quite a bit on kidd offensivelyscoring>Nash easily, he could score like 25 if he wanted to.passing>Nash, he runs the fastbreak for the Suns very effectively. No one in the League can top what Nash is doing for the Suns.

Youa re aware that Suns lsot in playoffs last year largely because Nash couldn't do anything about Tony parker. Guess whose fault that is?Kidd is better at running an offense than Nash is. Suns play a total uptempo offense with tons of shooters built around Nash. Kidd has never had that. And guess what? He led Nets to finals 2 straight years, and if they didn't choke, would have brought Spurs to 7 games in 2003. He also had much less talent to work with. Martin hasn't done anything without Kidd, and with him he was an all star! RJ was still young and wasn't too much of a factor. After that, who did they have? Kittles? I'd take Raja Bell and Boris Diaw over him anyday, and last year QRich and Joe Johnson. Bottom line is Kidd makes player around him better, no matter what type of offense. Nash is only effective in fastbreak offenses,a nd Kidd proved with less talent he is still the ebst fastbreak guard in league. He also gets job done on both sides of floor, Nash doesn't. As for scoring, Nash gets the point because of the offense type and most of his shots are layups. Again, Kidd could average 20PPG on the Suns.

Why do you brin the past into all of your arguments? We're not talking about 03 we are talking now. Kidd has declined and with RJeff and Carter he hasn't been able to turn them into a dominate offense like Nash has done with the Suns this year. That's the bottom line, Nash can shoot very well and he attacks the rim well also. nash can run an offense better then JKidd.

Suns have a 12 man roster, all of which can score over 10PPG. Kidd only has 3 options. Suns run a fastbreak game which allows Nash tog et all thsoe assists, Nets run a halfcourt offense which halts Kidds abilities.Nets a few years back had a team semi-comparable to Suns this year (but much worse) and Kidd was FAR better than Nash is now.

The Nets have 3 very good scoring options. Nash had 2 that were considered good scorers the year before and they weren't even that great. In Nash's run and gun offense he makes his teammates alot better and helps them get easy baskets. It's no the apg, it's the fact that Nash is takin an otherwise dismal team and turning them into the best offense in the League.

Nothing was as important this year as the playoffs are every year. It was on a big stage, so easy for comparison. He couldn't have gotten the same point across if he was talking about one of this year's games. okay, we know Nash can run an offense better than Kidd. but offense isn't everything. Defense is actually more important than offense, as the Spurs and Pistons have proved already.
