Paul Pierce. Better rebounder, more efficient scorer, better in clutch, and I just feel more efficient all around. Gilbert is fantastic, but he is a little inconsistent and just not "there" yet.
I would take Arenas because he can score a lot and help out teammates. As for Pierce, he's more a scorer more than anything else.

He is more of a shooting guard but because of his size he is forced to play pg,he is a shoot first guard but both Butler and Hughes have had career years while playing with Arenas.I think he's still young and can definitely develop to a top notch point guard.
I don't really consider him a PG though, he's definitely a scoring guard that just happends to play PG. He's not really comparable to someone like Steve Nash or Jason Kidd, he's kind of like AI.

He is very selfish for a pg.</div>Yeah, ok, thats obviously the right answer considering the fact that Arenas averages 29 ppg and plays PG. If you think that, tell me why Hughes and Butler have had career years with Gil? Dude, he doesnt even come close to Steve Francis/Allen Iverson. Gil could average 10 assists a night if he wanted to, but he HAS to be efficent on the offensive end for this kind of team, just in order to keep the team alive.
Hmmm what am i gonna say, obviously Pierce cuz i'm a Celtics fan but c'mon....Arenas has been good for what, a few seasons? He beats Paul in scoring, doesn't beat him in rebounds, barely beats him in assits, Arenas is not clutch at all...TJ Ford made a laughingstock of him two games by stripping the ball out of his hands in the last seconds of the game. This is kinda dumb to compare a PG to SF in the first place...but I gotta take Pierce. Another aspect where Pierce gets the nod is attitude, Arenas is a little punk. I loved that game where Glibert flicked off the Celtics bench then Pierce drained a 3 in his face to win the game If Gilbert passed the ball more the Wizards would probably be a better team.

Thats them doing well for themselves. Gilbert does not make his teammates better. He rarely passes it. He is a sg forced to play pg. He is a great scorer but he doesnt share the ball well.
If you look at both of the players that did well along gilbert, you see that Larry Hughes (who was already good in the first place) was in his contract year, and he got a big deal bc of the season he had. And as for Caron, he was only averaging 2 more ppg this year, in an offense that scored about 10 ppg more (it was the offensive system). Butler actually shot a worse percentage this year than last year.
