...^^^ Obviously he's living with his foot in his mouth....last thing I heard him say: "I tink I thaw a puddy cat"...
......semantics...I disagree...it's a rite of Spring...every year when the grass turns green, in every camp, the ultimate goal is to win it all. ...when you get right down to it, what's the difference between a goal and a desire or wish?
well stated,..... I think someone's confusing the difference b/t a Hockey Goal, and rationale goals....(not ye' 59, but someone else)....
actually, what this thread brought out is that the name callin fools don't know the game, all they prove by the attacks are they are yankee homers, that bring up childish crap really ? the rangers board, lol get a life !... i never made mention of them, their families, their anything, but they try to out do one another by bashing someone who is talking about whats possibly wrong with team. again! you have the players and the coach who are at fault here! we have now seen this team beat the best pitchers in the game, and let down against the mediocre, that's on both, these baffoons claim its not on the coach, they are entitled to thei opinions, but they are not entitled to bash, but thats them,! so again i ask other then the fact that girardi coaches the NEW YORK YANKEES, what makes him a good, not great coach.
WTF- do you call the name calling shaded in pink....? 59 is right your a hypocrite.....! Can you say you watched Mantle playing ball in the latter 50s to His Retirement, Berra, Maris, Ford.....I thought not, immaturity has its price to pay......FazFool, I get it now....! You swear your so knowledgeable, about when to do this or that by a Mgr., but got not a clue. Read Torre's book. With the game on the line, he called for an intentional walk, what would of been the tying run vs Atlanta 96 W.S., and Torre's gamble paid off. (Not the conventional call to be made, yet I don't believe you get at times, one has to take a gamble, to WIN....! These utterances of yours, FazFool, how old honestly are you, <30......? Your talking trash, and its not appreciated, the "self ordained Minister of Baseball"........Ya' do sound Immature, and indeed I read your posts on the Rangers board, and you did as much there too. Til everyone called you out, do to your lack of knowledge of the sport; just like MLB.......Combined b/t 3 people on this board, here is almost 180 years of experience, or add 2 or 3 more, and you got 360 years of knowledge.....where's the respect for your elders. You can't continue to disrespect, and still expect anyone to take anything your saying seriously. I heard more complaining on the Rangers board, as much as I do here also......get a flipping clue....cheaper by the dozen........ FazFool, I get it now......a hypocritical whiner......
Amen 59....... To add to 59s bulls-eye thread, I can't help but add: 'bout this self appointed Guru of baseball'....... I hear a child whining, and I'm not changing his diaper, I'm tossing the baby out with the bathwater..... I know your not changing the baby's diaper either 59...... Time to "flush the toilet for the turd in the punchbowl....."
Goals are generally part of an active plan to achieve something. Desires or wishes are typically uses for the passive. I don't see more than 30-40% of teams with an active plan in ST. Those numbers hold at ASB but the teams change. Sox for example...
...again, it's semantics. I think my point was clear regardless of whether you agree with the grammar.
Only semantics if the terms are interchangeable. But I defined my qualifier in terms of active/passive use. You may choose not to see that distinction, thus your semantics statement, however I do believe that the difference is significant. Just FYI, I will be consistent in my usuge of goal (active) and wish/desire (passive) in reference to sports hereafter. Sorry...been reading contracts today...lol!
...ahh, that explains it then. ...but still; goal... noun \: something that you are trying to do or achieve
...ummm, read what I originally said, "...it's a rite of Spring...every year when the grass turns green, in every camp, the ultimate goal is to win it all". ...the "goal" begins in Spring...you're the one who switched to "current" or present tense. ...don't go Pasta on me.
go take your , "your" proper grammar, meds u ole coot and get to bed! make things up much? ohh yea thats right, u were an engineer, for who, public television's "thomas the train"...
