Ah, there he is. Finally showing up after a loss to bitch some more about Roy? Still think he shouldn't have played in Games 3 and 4?
Well in all fairness Roy did play like shit, and he did include that other players were too. Regardless, this was a total team effort loss. The only player that actually showed up last night was Miller; which can't win games. Our effort defensively and offensively was a total joke. This was, by far, the worst team effort I've seen the Blazers play in the playoffs the last 3 years. It was seriously pathetic.
Some people, like you and me, show up win or lose. Others, like Blaze01, disappear after wins, and show up to complain/bash players after a loss. I'll also add that Game 1 of the Houston series was the worst playoff game of the last 3 years.
The Blazers were up by 5 at the end of the first quarter, and were only down 1 at halftime. Gerald Wallace finally woke up. Miller again produced. Portland played one really good half of basketball. Had they been able to make shots that were actually pretty open, and had they put more effort into driving into the middle, they could've been right in that game. The other night Roy was blowing right by Dallas' defense like it wasn't there for good reason. The perimeter defense of Terry/Barea/Peja and even Kidd is marginal at best. Gerald, Batum and Miller need to take it strong to the hole and draw some fouls. Chandler is a great shot blocker, but the dude has his hands full with Aldridge. Drive in there, bang some bodies around, plan on turning it over a little and maybe getting called for a few charges, but put the onus on the refs to blow the whistle. Terry/Barea/Peja/Kidd love it when you toss the ball around the perimeter and take midrange jumpers. We keep playing right into their hands by doing that. I see Batum ISO'ed up on Dirk on the wing and then Batum passes it out. Fuck that shit. There's no fucking way Dirk can keep up with Batum 20 feet from the rim. He's driven and scored on Dirk multiple times in the regular season, but I've yet to see him even try it in the playoffs.
