If you were from there you'd know. We also call Portland P-Town. Black folk here affectionately call Portland "The Town" all the time. Y'all need to get off the GSW hate. The ONLY real reason to hate them is because of KD. Other than that, they've done EVERYTHING right to build their team. They built through the draft. They made a hard choice between Monta and Klay. They drafted Shrek's Donkey in the 2nd round. They went and successfully recruited the best FA. Why the hell are we pissed at them because KD joined his bullies? It's stupid and people need to get off that bullshit. If you're upset with GSW, you're a hater plain and simple.
I swear the follower, mob type mentality of this forum is so stupid sometimes. Some don't even look things up and research before they start spouting. And then, the spouting ends up being incorrect nonsense. I'm in the middle of teaching my son to think before he speaks:
Love those GS unis! If you drive around Oakland they have that logo on all of their street signs as well.
Don't know if this is aimed at me for starting this thread, or some of the other posts. I just thought it was a bit funny and a little ironic that Dame has emblazoned on his chest the logo that the Warriors are using on their uniforms. MediocreMan seemed to think that I was serious in the title of this thread in claiming that the Warriors are copycats. Anybody who took the time to click on the link that I posted would know that I understand that it's an Oakland thing. I guess I'll have take to posting a big J/K or use green font from now on.
It's not ironic at all. Dame got this tattoo because he's from OAKland and that's their logo. How many people around Portland do you see with Rose tattoos? I know so many people with rose tattoos. I know you made the thread with your tongue firmly planted in your cheek. My post was aimed at the blatant disregard for the understanding of why that's on their unis. And to belittle them for having pride in their city is foolish.
Irony: A state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result. So, yeah, it is a little ironic that the Blazers' best player has the same logo on his chest as an opposing team. In reality, it's perfectly understandable that the Warriors and Dame chose to honor their hometown by using the oak tree logo. But it's a little funny, on the surface. That's probably why Dame posted, "This is bad." on his Twitter feed when he saw the story.
