Cool that we got an extra game added against GSW. Probably the games I'll root the hardest for Blazer wins, although I also really want to beat Miami. Loved the win in Toronto. Can't think of a year where Lakers aren't one of my most despised Blazer opponents, this is odd.
What a choke job by the Warriors. Blow a 24 point lead and lose the game. Saw the score in the 3rd and just assumed they'd have a comfortable victory. Horrible final shot by Curry. Their down 1 with 8 seconds and he shoots a double teamed contested 40 foot shot. If warriors stay healthy I'd expect the pickup more wins. But they've already had Curry and Draymond miss multiple games with injuries. GPII and CP3 go down last night. We're not even 20 games into the season and they have a losing record. Very possible if not likely they have more significant injuries and we have a real chance at getting a lottery pick from them. I'm going to enjoy rooting for the Warriors about as much or more than rooting for Blazers wins this year. Realizing how starting in just over 3 years it's going to be real exciting with more of this! 2028, 2029, 2030 drafts we will have four chances to root against teams and those are completely unprotected.
Will be amazing if we are a solid playoff team in 2027-28 and the Bucks have fallen off... Have never rooted for a lottery pick and high playoff seed in the same season before.
Yeah it’d be really fun to have a team that competes every year like the early 00’ Pistons and suddenly have the 2nd overall pick in a random year like ‘03. Obviously, as history has shown, making the right pick is the more important part. But being in the position to do so would have a fan like me preoccupied for an entire summer lol.
The old man and the constant therapy patient are hurt again? I can't believe it. I just can't believe it.
Shams: the golden state warriors have requested the NBA investigate the Portland Trail Blazers for not disclosing a torn calf injury at the time of the trade.
2023 from Atlanta (second-most favorable of ATL, CHA, BKN) 2024 from Atlanta (must be between picks 31 and 55) Atlanta's 2024 2nd round pick to Portland [Atlanta-Portland, 2/6/2020; Atlanta-Detroit-Golden State-Portland, 2/9/2023 (in these two separate, protected conveyances, Portland now holds all selections)] 2025 from Atlanta (must be between picks 31 and 40) 2026 from Memphis via Golden State (top-42 protected) 2028 from Golden State (unprotected)
With the way the Warriors have been, it might be more like, Shams: 'The Golden State Warriors have requested the NBA investigate the Portland Trail Blazers for not disclosing any future injuries the oft-injured Payton might have at any time going forward in his career.'
I assume you are joking about that, but he did take a shot at the Blazers: "It’s awful news for Payton, who was looking healthy and like his old self after a 2022-23 season that was defined by injuries (and injury mismanagement by the Portland Trail Blazers). And it’s a brutal blow for the Dubs, as Payton had established himself as one of their best players on both sides of the ball, operating as a defensive menace, an excellent rebounder, and an exceptional cutter."
Go Clippers! Can't remember having so much fun rooting against a team before. It was nice seeing the old Lakers a few years ago flop.
