I am 100% convinced he signs with us but only was ever 90% sure he would stay.

If LA leaves, I can't wait for the relevatory I Was Never Happy in Stump Town article in ESPN magazine.

I'm subscribed to their shitty magazine for some reason, I can't wait for him to be on the cover in a Knicks or Laker jersey, that will be fun.

If he goes to NY, he deserves what he gets.

If he left for LA I'd have so much enjoyment watching him miss the playoffs while his team doesn't get a lottery pick.

He wouldn't miss the playoffs if he becomes a Laker. That's why he would be dead to me. The Lakers would actually be a good team

All this Laker talk is going to make El Prez have an anxiety attack.

I would LOVE to see LMA go to the Lakers. They'd constantly be fighting for the 8th seed.

They would be a top 5 team in the NBA. End of story

Oh really? Why is that? The Blazers are a MUCH better team than the Lakers and we're not a Top 5 team.
Who do the Lakers have that could make up for all of LMA's deficiencies?

You think Aldridge has the deficiencies, I disagree. I know we've written Kobe off, but he's another year removed from the Achilles injury. They lost their best defensive player in pre-season. And finally, if Aldridge comes, it would attract more free agents. They wouldn't only sign Aldridge. Most likely another decent all star would come

It still all sounds very middle-of-the-pack to me.
Do they even have enough money to sign LMA and another all star? I highly doubt it, given how much Kobe makes.

They have the ability to sign 2 max players this summer

    http://hoopshype.com/salaries/la_lakers.htm

If Jordan Hill's option is not picked up, they would be locked for 27 mil. The cap should be around 60 mil, so that gives them 33 mil of free space

How can the Lakers sign LMA when they're going to max Kevin Love and Rajon Rondo though?

If LA got LA they probably would go after Rondo because he is a big name.

    Rondo / Clarkson
    Kobe / Ellington
    Draft / Young
    LA / Randle
    Sacre / Davis

Fighting for the 8 spot and losing it to teams like Dallas and us.

You are officially NOT a fan of our team. Anyone who would love to see LA leave, KNOWING we wouldn't get equal value, is not a real fan...

I am looking at most the scenarios and I ask myself a few questions.

#1 Which players are the "destination" having to let walk to have room?
#2 is that team better with Lamarcus or the players they let walk?
#3 is that team better with Lamarcus than the Blazers are with Lamarcus?

If the answers to #2 and #3 are maybe or yes then I go to

#4 Is that team enough better that Lamarcus would leave $30mil on the table?

Maybe I'm weird, but I don't care if he stays or goes. Don't get me wrong, I like him, I'm glad he's played for the Blazers all these years, but I think he's put in the time; he played hurt this year when maybe he shouldn't have and I'd like to see him enjoy a shot a title - I don't see that happening in Portland any time soon (even if he stays). So happy hunting LMA.
