Never in my life did anyone in our family or myself own a key to the front door until I was about 23. Oh, I think I recall that we owned a skeleton key to our front door from the ages of 9 thru 11. You could pick up a skeleton key at any hardware store. We also never took the keys out of our car until I was about 12. My dad never took the keys out of his pick-up truck on the job until he died in 1968. It's a different world now with all the wealth disparity. The disadvantaged are even more disadvantaged. People this disadvantaged get desperate.
