Eh…. I could see them saying things like that. Presti just won the title. I could see him saying another guy nailed the draft. Some of them are petty but I imagine some of them share their thoughts too.

I can't rule it out as a possibility. Since we'll never know what these GM's say to themeslves, out-loud, about other GMs, it kinda feels like a somewhat meaningless exercise when attempting to prove if a transaction was good or not. Of course, if you have a verified audio recording of what Onsi Saleh is saying about Portland in his kitchen tonight, while eating milk and cookies, please share it; I would find it entertaining if not interesting.

Personally, I'd hope there would be public metrics, video clips, etc. that might be better used to determine if we think pick #16 if going to be better than pick #17.

It’s more likely that they say to themselves out loud that so and so is a fucking moron.

Yeah, you're right. I don't remember which draft it was that the outlets destroyed us, but turns out we really did pretty well.

Gave them a B, extracting extra assets to get their guy is an A, there were other good players around, so opportunity loss docked them a bit. Of course, if they were right in their bpa assessment, they deserve the A.

F is the only grade that makes sense. The kid could turn out to be the next JokShaqHakeem Abdul ChamberRussell, but we could have got him much later

Unless they think they can improve this guy's athleticism and lateral speed, this sems like a very bad choice, especially considering who was available at 11.

I love how fans fall in love with a player, but realistically don't know much about him, and get pissed when the team didn't take said player (who also dropped), and act like they know everything about everyone.

Not saying the guy is going to be great, or even good. I don't know. None of us know anything about him.

He could be a steal, could be a bust. But so could kaspar, Carter and Coward.

Maybe lets see how he looks in summer league first (I'm assuming he's going to play). Granted it's a guard driven showcase.

Not that there aren't reasons to be cautious or pessimistic. He's not fast, and it's not like he had top notch competition. But it's not like Joker is exactly fast or athletic.

And no, I'm not saying he's going to be the next Joker, it's a comparison of speed and athleticism.

That said, incomplete/see me would be my grade. With not a lot of distance between this and a failing grade.

The Draft picks cannot be overlooked and if we had him circled, I’ll wait and see how it pans out prior to buying into a bunch

MAYBE.....this works out, and we all hope it does. But there were some nice players that were passed up at #11 and a couple even at #16. Fair or not, Yang is going to be compared to them and their production just like every pick is to those that are drafted after them.

Looks like they did their homework and drafted who they thought was best where they could.

They also got some additional draft picks.

I gave them an A. That's what I'm looking for.

No matter if you like or do not like the pick Cronin just showed his hand on what this offseason will be about and while I am not a fan of it at least it's a plan. I think Cronin is going to shift Vet's like a Grant or Thybulle or Williams for other players WHO might fit a tad better or have a skill set this team needs .. shooting etc. I do not think any player drafted was going to play many minutes cause there were not that many minutes open only Banton's minutes and maybe Walker's too . Now do not get me wrong I am not against the player just where he was picked as he prolly should have been more like a 21 to 30 pick at best not in the teens.

Billups likes vets point blank so any rookie would have just gotten yanked around by the nose by getting inconsistent minutes and seeing a Carter or Kas or whoever lose minutes to Grant and Thybulle or someone would have been even more annoying then what I am now at this gamble of a pick.

I can’t wait till Handsome posterizes LeBron then gives him the two handed head bow while he’s on the ground.

Well, obviously, I wanted Coward, so I was disappointed. However, they did manage to secure a good haul for moving back just 5 spots.
I wanted others based on what I saw on film, but those were all highlights. So who knows for sure.

If the goal is to keep Ayton past this year, then it was a bad pick. But most of you want Ayton gone, so you all should not be as disappointed as I was.

As for where the mocks had him? Who the fuck cares. They don't know shit. They are not traveling internationally to watch these guys.
Some of the mocks I saw barely changed in the last few months, and they still all got it wrong. I am convinced that those "mock gurus" don't know more than we, which, to be honest, is not that much.

Yang will look bad at times this year, but who knows, in 2 years he could be a great complement to Donovan. We need at least two good centers. Yang looks like he has the potential to be a good stretch center. He has excellent passing skills as well so he should be good in high pick-and-roll situations. Plus, he looks to have good footwork down low as well. He is not a slow lumbering big. I would put money that he is faster than either Clingan or Edy.

I give them an incomplete at this point. (certainly not an A or B)
