Why do you think that Pitino's knowledge about Simons is superior to that of NBA scouts? (That's the concept to which I'm responding...someone said no way does Pitino feel any special loyalty to the kid for ditching Louisville.) Just now, I gave reasons for why his evaluation is no better, in fact, outdated, because they saw him at IMG and he didn't. You offered no reasons in rebuttal for why Pitino's opinion should be prioritized.

So you can prove that Pitino feels no loyalty to the kid for showing loyalty to Pitino?

I never said Pitino's knowledge of Simons is superior to an NBA scout's. I was battling your false narrative of Pitino lacking knowledge about his own recruit and only praising Simons as a favor for loyalty. It's a fun story that you have concocted, however, it is just that: a story.

I never said anything about prioritized...I said, valued....these guys watch film...talk to those same NBA scouts etc.....who knows..maybe he did nothing...just signed a paper without giving a shit to bring the kid to Louisville...I've no reason to discount the kid's own hard earned reputation for being a top prospect right out of hs…..that was common not that long ago …difference here is that I think Olshey is well informed and does study these kids games...Lillard says he's never seen another GM around the gym and team like Olshey...he likes it...I think he's pretty good at it...

Somebody offered Pitino's evaluation of Simons being superstar-like, and I downgraded that evaluation as being biased because of Simons being his one Ace in his war with Louisville, and you said BS, Pitino's evaluation isn't biased. Yes it is.

More proof that Olshey isn't hard at work in his office, wheeling & dealing on the phone. How many GMs does Lillard have experience with?

If I have to take these tests, please make them multiple choice...I promise you Donald Sterling never watched a team practice in his career.

You answered a question about Dame’s experience with GM’s. I bet Dame has a ton of experience with other NBA GM’s. All in how you take that question.

No calls in 3 years except one from Denver offering Nurkic...plus one call praising Anfernee "Pitino's Revenge" Simons...it's the weak battery's fault...

I just had a dream where Simons was starting day 1 and scoring at will, so clearly it's a good pick

Be careful. I once had a dream where Sergei Monia was scoring at will against the Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. Dreams have a way of kicking you in the balls later.

Shoutout for the throwback. Man, I thought John Nash absolutely killed that draft. The Monia/Khryapa duo I expected to be unstoppable with Bassy running the show.

Khryapa played like a hero for us! Just because his name sounds like crap, people now put him down. Then Juwan Howard saved our ass for a season, and management rewarded him by ditching him, the same as Khryapa. No gratitude in both cases.

Kryhapa was just ok and was dealt to Chicago in the Aldridge trade. As for Petino's assessment, the guy has been around the college game a lot longer than you, has recruited some top talent and I would take his evaluation way over your assessment of any player as reading many of your posts, your evaluation skills are poor at best.

How did he show Pitino loyalty when he rescinded his commitment after the allegations?

All of that is true. None is relevant. (to whether his over-praise is biased because of the Louisville events.)

By definition. That's like asking, how can X be equal to X.

I have heard no alternative history for why Simons didn't go to Louisville.

The question is rhetorical. He didn't show Pitino loyalty. He took care of himself when Pitino went down in flames.
