So you're willing to admit there are financial ties to the Trump administration as long as it's in some way related to making Hilary Clinton look bad? See the non-Podesta name in the headline of that article?

That's fine with me. I didn't vote for her. Also, she's not president. As far as investigations go, we've got bigger fish to fry.

Investigate all the ties. If Russia was backing the Clinton campaign, we need to know.

Podesta was to Clinton what Manafort was to Trump.

Podesta wasn't fired during the campaign, though.

So you're admitting Manafort is an issue. Great, we're making progress. Who are the Clinton equivalents of Carter Page, Rex Tillerson, Michael Flynn, Jeff Sessions, Felix Sater, and Roger Stone?

Also, she's still not the president of the United States. And I believe you only think there's evidence that the Russians backed her campaign insofar as you can mention it in order to divert attention away from the Trump campaign's connections. Will you be chanting "lock her up" at your TV during Trump's impeachment hearings?

I'm fine with investigating them all. All of them.

There's this absurd narrative that somehow Trump peoples' relationships with Russians are questionable. The weakest connections are made with zero evidence of anything at all. So go waste our time.

It may well be that if Clinton is investigated, she will be locked up.

Uncertainty can have a big effect on financial markets. Looks like whatever confidence the markets had in Trump and his agenda have slowly dwindled since his election victory. Denny, you've insinuated that I'm not financially literate in another thread, in the past, curious how you want to spin this.

Absolutely the markets are scared by the assaults on the president.

    No "spin" needed.

Nor do I consider you financially illiterate. If you asked me a question, I likely just answered it the best I know how.

    • U.S. Intelligence agencies overwhelmingly conclude that Russia interfered in our elections
    • There are considerable financial and political connections between Trump surrogates and Trump campaign people and Russian interests
    • Trump apparently told the director of the FBI to lay off an investigation of one of these surrogates (unless Comey is a liar)
    • Trump fires the director a couple of months later with conflicting reports about why.
Maybe it's simply apophenia to look at those events and see a link, but to say that it's "absurd" strains credulity. At the very least it seems like the kind of thing that a rational person would look at and find "interesting" to say the least.

That report from Reuters, which is one of few reputable news sources that I think you might trust, at least a little, says nothing about the "assault" on the president. It give evidence of the uncertainty of markets that he can deliver on his tax and regulatory reform. If markets are efficient, which I'm assuming they are, it's seems that Wall Street is a bit nervous too because of Comey's memo. It's not just the MSM and the Daily Globe (or whatever rags you are posting in the other thread).

Flynn and Sessions have lied about their relationships with the Russians, and Trump has publicly denied having anything to do with Russia in general (which is demonstrably false.) I'm guessing we'll find out how absurd that is in the coming months.

Three intelligence agencies came to this conclusion. The strongest evidence they claim is "fingerprints" of Russian spy groups.

They spy on us and lied about it under oath. They've spied on congress, and on the leaders of our allies, and interfered in foreign elections, and obviously are leaking classified information to the media.

Even more important is that we somehow are supposed to trust them in spite of our own agencies' use of hacker tools and have the ability to "leave behind the fingerprints of the groups that the attack techniques were stolen from." This means the NSA, or rogue elements, could have done the DNC hack and left a trail leading to the Russians.

Assange says the hacking wasn't the Russians - there's nothing he's done to suggest he's a liar (all the things posted on WikiLeaks appear to be true). That and Clinton is so terrible she lost to Trump and her own people may have been the source of the leaked info.
For the news organizations to ignore their own prior reporting and make absurd accusations is easy to document.

Flynn lied on his paperwork and is going to be in trouble for that. That's all I can see in any factual reporting that's gone on. Trump fired him pretty quick. Is that a bad thing?

Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigations. He didn't lie about meeting with the Russians, he just didn't consider meeting with the Russian ambassador to be of interest. He met with numerous ambassadors:

    upload_2017-5-17_13-50-42.png

    http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article...roup-all-us-senators-disclose-your-ambassador

In a statement released today, Matthew G. Whitaker, the executive director of the Foundation for Accountability & Civic Trust (FACT), said, “Attorney General Sessions correctly stated that meeting with ambassadors to the United States from other countries was part his job as a U.S. senator. He said he met with two dozen ambassadors in 2016 and actually met with the Ukrainian ambassador the day before he met with the Russian ambassador."

"Other senators in both parties have mentioned they too have met with ambassadors," said Whitaker. "FACT is now calling on all U.S. senators, Democrat and Republican, to immediately release the names and dates of all their meetings with ambassadors over the last three years."

"If we are going to have a national discussion about senators meeting with ambassadors, it is appropriate for all senators to disclose who they met with so the public, and apparently the media, understand that all General Sessions did was his job," said Whitaker.

Leading Democrats in the House and Senate have accused Attorney General Sessions of not telling the truth about his meetings with Russian officials during his confirmation hearing.

In a press conference yesterday, March 2, Sessions said, "First, about the comments that I made to the committee that have been said to be incorrect and false, let me be clear. I never had meetings with Russian operatives or Russian intermediaries about the Trump campaign."

"And the idea that I was part of a quote, 'continuing exchange of information' during the campaign between Trump surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government is totally false," said Attorney General Sessions.

The assaults on the president cast doubt on his ability to get any of his agenda enacted. This has been going on for a while.

    http://money.cnn.com/2017/03/27/investing/stocks-dow-losing-streak-trump-obamacare/
    Dated March 27

The Trump stock market rally is under siege

The recent market retreat is a reflection of rising fears on Wall Street that Trump's bold promises of sweeping tax reform, regulatory relief and infrastructure spending is in doubt. Investors have begun to contemplate that the Trump agenda will be delayed, watered down or even derailed.

And you want to blame that all on a media "assault"? Sure they are trying to come at him hard, I get that, every president has had opponents. But maybe, just maybe, if he wasn't such a blowhard with other agenda items that even you said you don't support, maybe he could get something done. Instead, the baby (infrastructure, tax reform, regulatory relief) is going right out with the bathwater. It honestly sounds like you feel bad for the guy.
