<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Grant Hill leaving Orlando Magic for Suns Brian Schmitz | Sentinel Staff Writer 11:50 AM EDT, July 5, 2007 Grant Hill has decided to sign with the Phoenix Suns to hopefully hitch a ride to an NBA title, leaving the Orlando Magic after seven injury-racked, mostly unfulfilled seasons. He will sign with the Suns for the $1.2 million veteran's exception, which is all Phoenix was willing to offer. Hill, whose seven-year, $93 million contract with the Magic expired after the past season, apparently was eyeing the Suns from the start of the NBA free-agency signing period. It had been reported that Hill had spoken with the Miami Heat and the Detroit Pistons, whom he played with the first six seasons of his career. A 6 foot-8 seven-time all-star, Hill averaged 14.4 points per game last season with the Magic. He played in 65 games -- the most since playing 67 in the 2004-05 season. Hill, who arrived in a sign-and-trade in the summer of 2000 to Orlando from Detroit, was expected to team with fellow free-agent star Tracy McGrady to return the Magic to post-Shaq prominence. But he underwent five surgeries on his left ankle and another surgery to repair a hernia, and, in all, played in just 202 regular-season games.</div> http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/bask...0,3073523.story Well one less thing Magic fans have to worry about. I wish Grant Hill well and the best of luck in his conquest for a ring.

yeah but we coulda packaged some expiring contracts or somethin like Garrity or Arroyo and a future pick. We coulda easily went after Boris Diaw or James Jones.
lol i didnt mean itd be the easiest thing in the world. But if we threw in some picks along with Hill and expiring contracts. Or even possibly Turkoglu. I just feel we coulda got somethin outta this. And cleared up room for Darko at the same time.
Unless Phoenix gets KG I doubt that they will win a ring any time soon. They have failed so far, and I don't see how they could win without making one or more big signing/trade, and getting Grant Hill does not count as one. He'd have a bigger chance of winning with the Spurs.

The guy sits out practically 2/3 of his contract with his(big contract at that), and he goes and signs with another team. It's understandable at least.
