    @hoopsjock and @BonesJones nice job on the content the past week. I tried to listen to Marang a bit and his mic was awful. Your production value blows his away. It isn't close. Keep up the good work.

    If I understand correctly, it has to be official before the new NBA calendar year turns over. Grant is owned 20.9M in his last year, and our TPE is worth 20.8M. It only fits in this calendar year.

    Trades get announced before they’re actually official (aka physicals) quite a bit, especially in the summer. Also, Grant doesn’t necessarily have to physically be in Portland to take one.

    Hmm I haven't heard this yet. I thought there was a matching allowance or something so it would fit.

    I read the holdup was Grant flying back from Paris to do a physical.

    There is no matching allowance for TPEs. The TPE needs to be big enough to absorb the salary.

    The only possible reason for it needing to wait until the new league year is if it's a 4 year extend and trade as part of the deal.

    Yeah, from Blazers end it may open possibility of using EBEC instead of the trade exception if something happens with a 3rd team.

    Okay, this is wrong too. If it's a 4-year extension you have to wait the 6 months no matter what. Just got clarification on that.

    there is one esoteric mechanism by which players get extended then traded. Could be waiting for that.
