I thought Walton was no longer relative since he lost his broadcast gig. Even the networks could not stand him. What an arrogant self centered snot! He should have retired in Colo. and started the cannibus trade. The least we hear of him the better we are

Without Bill Walton, the Blazers would not even have the one NBA title they do have. This is the most idiotic statement I've read on this forum, and that's saying something.

Weird. He couldn't do the travel anymore. He was in such pain from the sitting positions that he wanted to commit suicide in 2009.

He is by far the smartest ex-superstar around for the colorman job. Every other star just looks stern like he wants to fight, then reads the cue cards. If we're lucky, we get a token forced smile at the end of the interview. His sentences are too long, but networks will gladly take a former star who talks too much, instead of just reading words that a flunky has written for them.

And, he's the best player in Blazer history.

I talked about his broadcast life... He certainly was a great player but once that microphone appeared he became what I described. Just my imho not meant to be a connection to his basketball talent.
