He still had a higher FG% and more assists then Dame so he's not really a ballhog... And he can play 3 positions which is valuable off the bench especially if someone gets injured. with Leonard+CJ+Whoever our PG is off the bench we have enough shooting. Having Tyreke would give us a top 5 NBA bench

if we traded Nic for him he could also start at SF

let me add this, for the value/money and what we would have to give up (probably Nic) I'd prefer trying to sign Stuckey for 3-5 mil per

Nic Batum & Robin Lopez for DeAndre Jordan & JJ Redick works.

If we got Tyreke I'd rather find a cheap floorspacing SF that would stay but only play 18-20 min a game (Singler, Covington, Dunleavey) that you would bring in CJ, Tyreke, or your backup PG in for a few minutes in based on how the game is flowing.

If we got Tyreke then we'd want a defensive floor spacing PG. (Stuckey and Tyreke play the same way). Watson is my first choice because then you'd have three 40% 3pt shooters (CJM, CJW, and Meyers) off the bench with Tyreke and CJ as the creators

Clips would never accept that. And double S&Ts are near impossible

Reke certainly seems like a good fit on paper to play with CJ and Dame . But I would worry why N.O would give up on him so soon after clearing cap space to get him in the first place. If Monty was still there I could see him wanting Nic, but he's not.

They have an undersized PG, SG, and SF. they could trade him because they want more length while keeping the same traits Evans has and putting more shooting around Davis.

not sure how another ball dominate player would fit on the court with cj and dame. not sure how here would improve his team defender deficiencies.

you wouldn't play those 3 at the same time. Even if you did, those guys are good shooters that could space the floor while Reke and LA work pick n rolls/pick n pops.
Offball defense is easy to work on, while on ball defense (what he's great at) isn't. So I think that's something that good coaching could correct.

I was mostly referring to his shooting and struggles against interior defenses. Having Meyers would bring a big away from the hoop which would negate his struggles against interior defenses. And if we can teach a 7'1 center to shoot 42% from 3 we could get him up from 30 to 34-35%. He doesn't have a bad stroke.

part of his great on the ball defense is knowing you have AD picking up the pieces when overplaying tendancies . won't have the defensive player of the year playing goaly here. we didn't make meyers a great shooter. players and reporters have raved about his 3 point range since he got here. plenty of videos where Meyers rang the bell in the background of players interviews after practice. monty Williams is/was a hell of a player development coach.

But he wasnt a 40%+ 3pt shooter back then. His form has gotten a lot better. And NO had a bottom 3rd rated defense, (i blame it due to Jrue, Eric Gordon and bad scheme) so Davis can't have that much of an impact on stats.

his confidence has gotten a lot better. I think you underestimate how much davis' 3 blocks a game and asik's banging allowed the perimeter players to overplay there man.

I don't think you understand what the stat in the article means. He may pressure more but with opponents shooting something like 47% against Davis at the rim, that means Davis isn't really helping Tyreke hold guys to 22% in isolation.

I think ryan Anderson is a very good comparative player to meyers as a stretch 4/5 stylistically on the offensive end so I don't see how much more open the lane would be. evans has averaged around 14 shots per game the last four years, nic only ten. who is going to give up their touches so evans can get his?
