I'd have to agree. I've seen a lot of places, but Italy is probably my favorite. This is my third trip here.

I've never been to Spain (beyond Barcelona, at least.) But my favourite country continues to be England. I like Italy, but the driving is insane and for whatever reason Tuscany and Umbria never really get me that excited. I'm not a huge fan of big cities anymore, so I doubt I'll ever revisit Florence or Rome. I really enjoy the coasts, though.

I'm really, really looking forward to revisiting Croatia, though. The clear water, the sun, the views, the fantastic weather...and really very, very affordable. I have very fond memories of renting a boat and snorkeling there. Hvar, Croatia seems like the perfect antidote for English rain.

    Fantastic shots.

I suggest Valencia though, if you ever go through Spain and are bargain-hunting. One of my butler's butlers found me a platinum facsimile of a Sorolla composition I've always wanted to engrave onto the crest of my Aurelian clavier.

Is Siena worth spending some time in? I was only there for maybe 2 hours as we were just driving through. I've wanted to go during the horse race they have there, looks like a good time.

How are you getting around? Trains, car?
