You know when I was in Portland, I was having lunch at burgerville and Oden was in there being all cocky and shit. Dude wouldn't sign my bare ass, what a dickhead! So I just took a video of him eating a chicken sandwhich and uploaded to teh youtubes. jerk!
I know, we should have drafted Durant. We dun fucked up. KD would be in the club buying everybody shots after dropping 40pts on the 1st of a back to back and still proceed to drop 30+ the next night. [see disclaimer in first sentence of thread, ps, learn to READ] To get to go to bigger, better and snootier clubs.
Yeah, you said it was horrible and I said you should work on your picture taking skills. Unless horrible is a standard you find acceptable you really should work on your picture taking skills.
And that's Oden's fault, I suppose. So fans should be mean to him behind his back. And some even to him. And then get MORE upset when he isn't the most gracious of mother fucker's in public, when he's out trying to enjoy himself.
Well, to be fair I am an Oden apologist, so I guess you took me out of the conversation. Besides, if admit that he's a waste of a roster spot, then I have to accept the reality that my kids are essentially wearing $65 Quintel Woods jerseys.
The Oden Apologists are out en masse in this thread. Didn't Oden admit that he was drinking too much, and that he was taking things more seriously? The last thing he should be doing right now is hanging out at a club, if his idea is to try and rehabilitate his image as a self-proclaimed drinker. It's a contract year. Greg just can't help himself, can he? This thread reinforces my thought of Oden not really caring about being a professional, in the truest sense of the word. I just can't see how to spin this as a positive. To me, it says he doesn't give a flying fuck about the Blazers re-signing him. The question now becomes, will Cho offer a Q.O.?
That's a big "if". There's the perception of being a big drinker, and then there are the effects of being a big drinker. I doubt he's all that concerned about the former. Ed O.
I really doubt that when people hear, "Greg Oden" they think of alocholic/drunk/drinker. I wouldn't call that an image.
I don't see at all how this is a positive for Oden. He said to the media that he drank too much during the years he was injured. Now, he is up for a contract, and he is out at the clubs again. The OP's photo has nothing to do with this reality, because I'm sure the Blazers have somebody giving them info about Oden, anyhow. I did notice that Cho said nothing about Oden as a future nucleus for the team in his Quick interview. My thought is that this isn't the first time Greg's been out on the town. Just not a smart move, IMO, in terms of an NBA future. Sure, the guy gets injured, but will his lifestyle play a role in him being a bust?
If I ran an NBA franchise, Oden's admission prior to this season of drinking too much in the past would wave a huge red flag at me. Now, if he is still going out, I certainly wouldn't think he is at all serious about being in the NBA. How is this a positive for Oden, or even the Blazers?
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict Greg will accept the Q.O., if the Blazers even offer it to him, which will make him a UFA next season.
You would of hated to see Kersey at the bar, dude drank a lot and if you tried to high five him he would sleep with your girlfriend and your best friends girlfriend at the same time.
I think you guys are giving us fans way too much clout in how a player feels about the city. The majority of fans aren't super stalkers, or annoying ass clowns. That's a very small minority, who the players know that are ass clowns. They don't spend their time reading message boards lamenting that someone took a blurry picture of them and people complain about the fact he's out having fun and wanting to be not bothered by douche bags at a club.
I had a friend that saw Him at the downtown Buffalo Wild Wings during a game last year drinking and having a fun time. He also said he was rude.
