Sad. Just sad. I remember him lying on the ground with his head on the towel almost crying. What could have been..
This is an endless Debby Downer article. I recommend that you not waste a half-hour reading it, as I regretfully did. The writer is apparently accustomed to the crime beat. She repeats endlessly that he hit his girlfriend, and that his life is straightening out by living with a new girlfriend and baby. Only a woman can make a man live right. She doesn't mention that he solved the problem by dumping the drunk bitch who constantly fought with him. His steady girlfriend since college didn't contribute to his problems over the years...You know this, how? You always have zero tolerance for anyone who disagrees with you about basketball, too. Just the loud blowhard type.
I didn't say she didn't contribute to his problems, I said she didn't deserve to get hit in the face 3 times and have her nose broken. Do you disagree? You think she had it coming and got what she deserved? If so, we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. This is a direct quote from Greg Oden: "That was a terrible person in a terrible place,'' he says. "She did not deserve any of that. I'm very sorry for it." So, basically, I was just agreeing with him when I said she didn't deserve that. I've never punched anyone in the face three times or broke their nose over a disagreement about basketball. So, I'm not sure I get your point. BNM
You deny that you said the implication of what you explicitly said, then you do the same...imagine an implication of what I explicitly said. I said you have no info behind your categoric denial that his longtime girlfriend wasn't part of his personal problems over the years.
You're trying REALLY hard to avoid answering the question I asked repeatedly. It's a simple yes or no question. Do you think she deserved to be punched in the face three times? BNM
No, but then we don't know how many times over the years she had punched him in drunken brawls. That's what I have said...We don't know anything. You, on the other hand, say categorically that the situation was 100% his fault, she had not contributed to it, and he is an evil person who deserves to be locked up and the key thrown away. You are trying really hard to avoid retracting your quasi-religious, absolutist condemnation to the fires of Hell. As my quote of HCP said, the real world is shades of gray, not all black and white. You always post in that fashion...coming down hard on one sentence cherrypicked from a post.
What's fucked up? You notice that he has no problem with his new girlfriend. No overdrinking. Already has a baby in domestic bliss, according to the feminist writer of the article.
Blazer fans should watch it. Made me think a little differently about Greg & his situation. I hope nothing but the best for him. He wanted to be great, his knees didn't allow it.
