http://www.pinstripealley.com/yanke...375/yankees-trade-shane-greene-didi-gregorius "One has to wonder if New York GM Brian Cashman would like a mulligan on the offseason trade he made shipping out Greene. It certainly doesn’t help the early perception of the deal that Didi Gregorius, the player received in return, is hitting .172 with an anemic .219 OPB. He has also looked lost in field and on the bases at times. Obviously, the sample size is extremely small, but thus far Cashman does not look very smart. Many Yankees fans were surprised that Greene was traded after showing so much promise in his rookie season. The Tigers were apparently surprised as well. CBS Sports reporter Jon Heyman stated during a radio appearance on WFAN that the people he talks to in the Tigers organization were "shocked" that they could get Greene. It is easy to see why Detroit liked Greene. In his first start against the Tigers on August 7, 2014, Green threw eight shutout innings at Yankee Stadium. He followed that effort three weeks later with seven innings of two-run ball in Detroit. Heyman remarked later in the interview that people he works with at MLB Network "think Shane Greene is going to be a star." "
Because they got Greene they could let Porcello go. Price, Sanchez, Greene are a pretty good three. That youg kid they had last season is back up and up return of Verlander the Detroit Staff could be looking twenty flight. Dombroski kicked Cashmans ass again.
...Heyman is one of the very few I actually put any stock into...Scott Van Pelt, Tim Kurkjian, Buster Olney , Ken Rosenthal, Tom Verducci are others.
I know its only been two starts but I'm calling it right now, Greene will finish in the top 5 in cy young voting. Remember kids, you heard it here first.
happily ...much worse would be my guess. ...I noticed you didn't answer my simple question...why is that?
I think he could be pressing......like to see him drop a bunt or two down 3rd base just to get the bat on the ball. Sometimes it does help when a batter has the "hole in his bat" syndrome. Lol
Gregorius simply needs to learn the strike zone. No, that won't make him a batting champ, but it will increase his chances of swinging at a "hitter's pitch" and getting ahead in the count.
Why? For giving a rousing reply to someone who called me a "bitchy little girl"? blg (I've said before), with no offense or perhaps so = Bitchy Little Girl.......... He gave his opinion of me, and I responded.....sounds normal to me.
...no, I don't think that's the reason why. You really need to stop waiting for 2-3 days just to dredge up old posts.
WHAT? Clyde seriously, we're not talking about some 19 year old rookie here, this is his 4th year in the league. If he doesn't know the strike zone by now he'll never know it. IMO whether he wants to admit it or not he's pressing both offensively & defensively & I'm hoping he eventually comes around. Question is, how long do you wait?
Well rick, he's had two "full" seasons prior to this year/total 612 ABs and had a.241BA, .682 OPS. There's still room for basic improvement and plate discipline unless you assume all 24-25 yr old hitters should be lighting up the score board by this time. You're confusing him with Mike Trout are you? Jeez
You mean like anytime CC has a rocky outing you ask: "but how's his velocity"? Or how about the man crush you have on Shane Greene. Everything that goes wrong with this Yankee team is because they traded Greene. Funny guy.
What are 12 with the DICK shit? I call you Clyde simply because it sounds a lot better then referring to you as BLG, If you haven't noticed you're the only one on here without a real name. if you prefer I'll call you Bill or Joe or Pete, pick one & stop being a jerkoff. Confusing him with Mike Trout seriously? Common sense between the minors & the majors he's had more than enough time to LEARN the strike zone so its a lame excuse. And to add more stupidity to your post LIGHTING UP THE SCOREBOARD? seriously I'd be happy if the guy could just give us 240-250 with decent defense. Going forward to avoid sounding like a clown you may want to read what you type BEFORE you hit "post reply' JEEZ!
