This team has had several good chances to roll over, yet keeps surprising - especially against better teams. I wouldn't put any money on it, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them take one of those. Lamarcus in particular should feel like he has a little something to prove.
Just one of those nights. Play it again and odds are we win. The execution was what we wanted, just didn't follow through. These guys are spent. They got in at 3 am. They played a grueling game last night. And only have seven-and-a-half players. Get this. They almost fucking won, so stop whining like a snot-nosed toddler. Appreciate the fucking effort! BTW, I thought Bayless showed maturity tonight. I felt more comfortable with him at the helm than I have in awhile. And how about Webster and Bam Bam! A lot of positives to take away from this loss.
Good news. Houston lost tonight to the Lakers, so that keeps the Rockets at bay. They are still 2 wins behind us
For the record, I didn't predict a blowout. I think it's rather obvious that, if LMA hadn't been playing, it would have been, though.
Did you not see it coming? I saw a tuckered, tuckered team up 8 with 3 minutes to go. I knew it would be tough to hold on. Lost in the middle of these last two losses are that Andre Miller & Martell Webster are balling out of their heads.
That's the toughest part for me, as a fan. Watching these players spill their guts out on the floor and not get the W. Seeing Martell Webster leave such an impactful imprint these past few games may be my favorite moment of the year. I wonder what his PER will be up to now?
Bayless was playing so well though and Bayless has closed a lot of victories for us. Doesn't matter. Neither will play when Blake's back, lol!
Not to beat a dead horse but this is exactly why I'm so hesitant in wanting to see our players moved. We don't know how good Webster will become, or really any of these guys. On a nightly basis we find another unsung heroic effort, another developmental leap. I realize we can be better by making certain deals, but keep dreaming about how awesome we could be by retaining nearly everyone of our youngsters.
There was no excuse for not having Miller in down the stretch! Nate screwed the pooch there big time!
