You sure can - Andre had 16 points and 10 rebounds through three quarters. Oh, and he can make FREE THROWS. Bayless had a terrible turnover and a missed free throw late.

Andre was our leading rebounder for the game!

The wheels were coming off in the 4th with Bayless. Nate needed to recognize that we needed a vet at PG.

You know it's common courtesy for the refs to tell you to lube up before fucking you in the ass. :devilwink:

Just who was the starting PG on those clubs? I believe it was a kid out of Oregon State, not Nate.

Giving Nate credit for the Sonics getting to the finals in 96 is like saying the Jud Buechler got the Bulls the championship that season. It's a stretch.

in the 1996 Finals, Nate was hurt and the Sonics fell behind 0-3. Then Nate came back and the Sonics blew out the Bulls twice in a row before eventually succumbing in a tough Game 6. If Nate had played the whole series, Sonics would've won easy.

It's going to be rough from here on out. The Blazers can't stop anybody, so the only way they are going to win is by out scoring them in an offensive battle. It's going to be a crapshoot as to if they will win each night, and most of the games will either be close or be on the bad end of the stick behind a bit. They can't afford to get behind because they can't get stops.

Top it off with the fact that Roy looked like he is starting to move very stiffly. In the first quarter I was wondering if he should even be playing. He warmed up well, but by the 4th he was starting to stiffen up again.

Last but not least, this game was lost when the Blazers started playing "Not to lose" instead of to win. They went from really moving the ball around, to standing around watching Roy and Bayless. Try playing to win instead of not to lose, and that doesn't happen.

Just got back from the game. Tough loss. Here's my observations:

1-We really really REALLY miss Pryz and Oden.
2-The refs fuckin suck. It's hard enough playing short handed. I can't believe how many calls went the other way.
3-Roy is the man! Webster played so well. Miller was a beast down low. It seemed like it was all coming together for a W.
4-Where was Andre in the 4th?
5-Where the fuck was LMA? He should have been getting the ball on the block at the end of the 4th. The dude needs to start earning that paycheck. He had the size advantage on ZBo, but as usual he was content with the fade away. He's unstoppable once he starts working across the paint. Sigh.
6-We really miss the twin towers. Get well Pryz and Oden. We'll need you next year if we really want to contend.

I disagree. The Warriors are a high scoring team and we held them to 48 points over the last three quarters. Nate coaches this team to play tough defensively and while we fell apart in the third, he had us rolling in the 4th, off to a 25-9 run over the first 8 minutes of the quarter.

Aldridge was probably playing at 70% at best. Dude looked like he could hardly move. I'd give him a break.

Yeah, they would have beaten Jordan's bulls easy if they'd had their backup PG. Give me a break.

That's almost as bad as arguing that McMillan didn't screw up by not having a timeout left at the end of the game.

Nice try Kingspeed. That wasn't a defensive stopping effort, but an effort to control the pace of the game. The Warriors are a simple ball control effort to contain their scoring. They cannot score unless they have a running game going. You slow it down, they are done. The Warriors are also one of the few teams in the league we actually can match up with right now. Most other teams are much bigger than us now. It will be a rare night for the rest of the season when we actually match up size wise with other teams. Try to not confuse defensive skill with controlling the pace of the game.

Yea Nate would have stopped the team that won 72 games if he was healthy.

Holding a team to just 48 points over THREE QUARTERS (while scoring 74 points) is more than just controlling tempo. We got stops.

haha.. no doubt. How the conversation can turn from the game tonight to an argument over the 1996 NBA Finals is hilarious...

Nate decides in advance what he is going to do, and rarely, if ever, adjusts on the fly. :sigh:

It wasn't the sole factor tonight, but it contributed.

Which surely had nothing to do with home court...
