<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GrnDynsty:</div><div class="quote_post"> Why does Scalabrine wear #44? Is that the number of players that were available and better than him at the time the C's signed him? </div>No, it's the age he appears to be when he's on the court.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting 44Thrilla:</div><div class="quote_post">No, it's the age he appears to be when he's on the court.</div> Maybe it's his basketball IQ. I think cabbage has a higher one. It could, of course, be his FG%... Multiplied by his shoe size.
Big game tonight. The Detroit Pistons have an imposing lineup comprised of: PG Chauncey Billups SG Rip Hamilton SF Tayshaun Prince PF Rasheed Wallace C Ben Wallace Oh man, that's gonna be a tall task. The C's are going to have to run and run some more...Marcus Banks and Tony Allen will be sorely missed in this contest. Hopefully Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes and Orien Greene will have good games because this will be a matchup nightmare in some regards. One.
Man, it seems that Al Jefferson is still having ankle problems and it's affecting his explosiveness and mobility. Donny Marshall is way too quick with the compliments on people's apparel during the pregame show...it makes me slightly uncomfortable. I'm glad the cheerleaders are back..too bad the C's STILL don't have a third color/alternate uniform. I'm just gonna watch this one because I don't know what to expect...except for Scalabrine to end up in a poster or two. I hope the bench shows up tonight! One.
That was a downer at the end. They played a great game (minus the missed free throws and the final play). They have to brush it off and get up for a game tomorrow vs. Charlotte. I just wish they would have stuck Perk on the inbounder (Arroyo). Damn! Great game overall but damn! One.

It's another game with the Celtics travelling to Charlotte to put a foot in the collective behind of the Charlotte Bobcats. Hopefully they can get another excellent performance out tonight and collect this win. I think the game is at 7:30pm. I'll be watching and posting my thoughts later. One.
One field goal in the final 9:44 of the game........That pretty much sums that game up. I need to Lysol my brain after those last two contests. Damn. One.

Very good thing, after watching this team play its guts out for a week, we get some relaxation, and they win one going away. Things will be in much better shape this time next week.
I'm quite interested in how things go for the Cs. They have a young lineup with the leadership of Paul Pierce. As usual they can only go as far as their superstar can take them. However, whether or not he remains in green is still in the balance; I expect he will but others think otherwise. PS - how ya been grn? remember me from the old EA Boards?

Ainge has said he has no intention of trading him, and that's that.
What's Up! <div class="quote_poster">Quoting chingy0007:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm quite interested in how things go for the Cs. They have a young lineup with the leadership of Paul Pierce. PS - how ya been grn? remember me from the old EA Boards?</div> How can I forget? That damn thread ran for more than 2 years before EA found a way to get rid of me for good. The best thing that happened there was having other users introduce me to this site. I was pretty much discussing basketball in depth on the EA boards and people were like "Who's George McInnis?" or "Who the hell is World B. Free and how could he be a better shooter than Ray Allen?". I had to bounce....If the Celtics were to get rid of Paul Pierce they'd be screwed. One.
This season becomes more and more interesting as the days pass. The starting five have been playing excellent basketball...the problem is the bench, namely the rotation. The lack of Marcus Banks and Tony Allen is really wreaking havoc on the C's lineup. The two dropped contests in overtime are a tribute to it. The lack of production from the newly injured Orien Greene has moved the defensively challenged Dan Dickau up on the depth chart. Scalabrine has moved up in the rotatation as well, giving up speed, strength and causing a gaping hole in the defense. Their minutes would be shortened if Al Jefferson was 100% and Banks and Allen were available. Either way, it's along season and there are 79 games left....I'll be here for all of them. One.
The Celtics pulled out a close one with Ricky Davis nailing the game winner at the end. It seems that every game comes down to the end. They called them the Cardiac Celts on ESPN...Boy, does Scalabrine suck! This is going to be one brutal week coming up for the Green Team. I'll be here to document it all. One.
That last game vs. The Spurs was brutal...it was like watching a movie starring Gary Busey and Nick Nolte both vying for the affections of Scarlett Johansson. I'd rather listen to a full rap album by Kevin Federline than see the Spurs show up at the TD Banknorth Garden again. Of course, by leaving in their starters for so long they ended up getting BLAZED by the Washington Wizards tonight on the second half of a double header. What has gotten into the Clippers? They think they're good! I saw the Spurs do WHATEVER they wanted last night...it looked promising until the 3rd quarter and that ridiculous first 3 minutes! The C's just packed it in after that...hopefully, the game versus Houston goes better at 6pm! The bench has got to produce and somehow Brian Scalabrine has to turn into Paul Milsap overnight (for those of you don't know he's gonna be the next Danny Granger outta Louisana Tech, 6'10 240, range out to 20 feet and an excellent rebounder and shotblocker). College basketball season has just started as well. I'll be back tomorrow. Check for my comments on the Boston vs. Houston game thread tomorrow...I save my best comments for those. "Right now, Pierce and Davis are hotter than Hef's youngest girlfriend" was one that people seemed to like. I'll be back later, people. One.
Tracy McGrady WILL play today after a yeoman's effort in the second half of last night's game. Hopefully, he'll be tired or cold from the field today. See ya one the game thread. One.
This game isn't even over yet and it is clearly the best game I've ever seen Raef play. They played well in every facet of the game. The ran and ran, even on made baskets. The defensive pressure was excellent. This is one exciting team when they play team ball and execute. They have so many players at each position that can contribute as well...with the exception of Brian Scalabrine...he just sucks out loud. I don't know how he convinced anyone to sign him..I WANTED STROMILE SWIFT!!! WE COULD'VE KEPT WALTER!!! DAMN IT!! One.
The Celtics tried to get Raef a career high...problem is, when you try to force it you never get it. The starting five AND bench all played great team ball. The Celtics went back to .500 for the season at 3-3. One.
I was so pissed off after that Celtics breakdown last night (as well as the lopsided officiating) that I had to remove myself from the boards. Games that are lost that way are upsetting to a fan such as myself. I have to step outside and re-prioritize....it's just basketball, right? What are the things that make you even madder than when the C's drop a game? I made a list that I'll share you with you follow C's fans. Think of it as a coping mechanism. Things that make me madder than when the C's lose: 1. Those damned Burger King chicken fries commercials (Coq rock?). The worst ones were the ones they aired on BET..black superheroes runnin' up on people and smacking McNuggets out of their hands to replace them with Chicken fries?...I almost called the NAACP a couple of times! 2. The ads for that new Usher/Emmanuelle Chiriqui movie "In The Mix". Not only is it a corny premise with a contrived plot but check out this snappy dialogue!: Her: "I heard Black guys could dance" Him: "I heard Italian girls could get you in trouble" (Which I can PERSONALLY attest to...I've spent plenty a night running out of the North End to the nearest T station...but I digress. This flick is going to be available on DVD in the next 3-4 months.) 3. Saturday Night Live. I've been watching replays and it seems that this season "SNL" stands for Still Not Laughing. I've laughed more watching complex surgeries on The Learning Channel! 4. Those late night commercials with 20 hot girls walking on a beach and posing by a sauna with cellphones asking you to TEXT MESSAGE THEM! Does anyone really fall for this crap? 5. Tony Sinclair! "Are you ready to Tanqueray?" Nope. I hope I never catch that guy alone near a dark alley...otherwise Tanqueray'll need a new pitchman. 6. 50 Cent. I can't be safe from this cat! Get Rich Or Die Tryin'? I'm TRYIN' to find a channel he isn't on! He's on The View. He's on Regis & Kelly. He's on ESPN. He's on G4TV. He's on VH1. He's on BET. He's on MTV. He's on Bravo! I ONLY TURNED TO BRAVO TO AVOID HIM!...I DON'T WATCH BRAVO!...THAT OFTEN... 7. Theo Epstein updates. He resigned. He left. Why do I have to hear about what he had for breakfast, lunch and dinner and every local sports show? 8. Terrel Owens. Look, T.O. YOU SCREWED UP. YOUR AGENT SCREWED UP. I DON'T WANNA HEAR YOU TALK AGAIN FOR A LONG, LONG TIME. 9. Chicken Little. I have been hearing ads for this movie for 18 months now (I kid you not!) Now that it's actually out and doing well the hype is nowhere near over. 10. The O.C. & Laguna Beach...what do these two ULTRA POPULAR SERIES BOTH HAVE IN COMMON? Let's put it like this..George W. Bush LOVES both of these shows with a passion! There! That was so cathartic! A post without bashing Brian Scalabrine and his uncoordinated self! Hold on, technically I just bashed him right there...Oh well, who cares. He sucks anyways. One.
