Group H: Spain, Switzerland, Honduras, Chile

Awesome matches today. I figured Benaglio might be able to give the Swiss team a lifeline, but that was ridiculous. I don't think there is anyone here that believed Spain would lose that match. I figured 1-0 for Spain, but I'm glad I'm wrong this time even if it hurts my fantasy team. This really opens up the group. Chile outplayed Honduras just about every second on the pitch. Sanchez was incredible on the ball as it took three defenders to close him down! I hope to see more from Chile in the next match because that 1-0 scoreline should have been more like 4-0.

 

I was saying Spain would win 3-1, my dad was saying Swiss would win and he was dead serious. lmao

I hope Behrami and Frei are good to go next two matches.

2. Is Gelson Fernades throwing up a "shocker"? If so, that might go with the Barack Obama picture of him laughing at David Beckham as the best soccer related photos of all time. I'm sure its not intentional, but I can't deny what I'm seeing there.

That said, I wouldn't want to be Honduras right now. They're severely over matched to begin with and Spain will be playing pissed and with something to prove. Wilson Palacios will have to put together one of the greatest individual performances of all-time if they want to have any shot at not losing by four or more. Of course, I also assumed they'd just roll over the Swiss. Also, good to see Chile on a bit later as I slept through all but five random minutes around the goal and the last three minutes of their first match. I'd like to see what this Sanchez is all about.

Switzerland were knocked out of the last World Cup without ever conceding a goal. We should have known they'd be tough.

The refereeing in this match is awful. Behrami gone on what should have been a yellow, weak yellows for Suazo and Nkufo and a yellow for Ponce for trying to play the ball forward. What a dumbass referee.
