LUKE HIT THE THREE! All the Laker fans are left in Phoenix, they started a "Let's Go Lakers" chant! Awesome shit.
Walton gets stuffed...lol. And then he responds by hitting the triple LMAO @ Suns fans chanting for the Lakers. And that is the ball game, Lakers win 105-92 and hold yet another opponent under 100 points. Good win.
Good to hear Odom is finally accepting his role as a 6th man. Glad to hear that he's looking for that ring instead of the cash.
So my thoughts... Great win. This win showed how good we are. We managed to blow out the Suns...a pretty darn good team...with Kobe shooting 8/23. His jumper was off tonight, and to be honest, it didn't look that great to begin with. Good thing it didn't matter. The defense was astounding tonight. Steve Nash and Stoudemire were basically held in check tonight. Stoudemire only show what...3 FTs and was 9/22, something like that. And the fact that we held Nash without a FG until the second half was impressive, because I have bad memories of him torching us in the past. So a couple things were shown tonight. First, the Lakers are legit. They are the best team in basketball. They managed to blow out the Suns with Kobe and Pau having off games. Again, Kobe was only 8/23 and Pau was only 2/8. It also showcased our defense in a big way. We held one of the better shooting teams in the NBA to 92 points and 44% shooting and only letting them get to the line 15 times. Lastly, it showed how damn good the bench is tonight too. Odom had a big game off the bench, and Ariza and Farmar were money as well. The other thing it proved to me was how far the Suns have dropped. Their offense, at times, looked completely out of sync. You can clearly tell that the team is moving in a different direction than last year, and it's showing on offense. They're no longer a fast break team and look more to work in the halfcourt, which is not their strength. This team seems to focus too much on finding Shaq in the post, and that would have been a good idea, 4 or 5 years ago, but not now. Shaq isn't good enough to carry this team, so I don't know why they're catering a style that fits to him instead of the rest of the team. It makes no sense to me.
So apparently D'Antoni isn't playing Steph because it would be unfair to him? How? I don't buy that. It's unfair to him to NOT play him. What a lameass excuse from D'Antoni.
On a sidenote...damn you Steve Nash. Way to only get me 8 points tonight. I'll take the 10 assists and only 2 turnovers...but 8 points...seriously?
I picked up Shaq in one league so that was alright. I have Andrew in other leagues. Other than that, the only other player I have in tonights matchup is Raja.
Just a bit. I really don't buy it. Too good of a player to be playing? Can't say that that makes sense. He's treated him unfairly, at least in my book, but whatever. LOL @ Chuck almost letting "bullshit" slip on air.
Nash was all I had, but still, he could have done something. Good thing I have Kidd, Paul, Billups and Felton to pick up his slack at my PG spot.
I can't believe Pau only finished with 4 points. Wow... Great effort tonight though. Loving the defense! Radmanovic was an absolute beast! We need more of that from him. Now time to focus on the Nuggets!
With that lineup of PGs, you'd think it'd be basically impossible for me to lose in assists. Not so much...cause Shape beat me in that cat last week. Oh well, to my credit, I forgot to set my lineup at least 4 times last week, and my idiocy with that is why that team 7-21 so far this season.
You and me both on the Pau thing. I figured he'd have his way in this game because of his length and athleticism. Not so much, though the only big that had a really good game tonight was Shaq. And Vladdy was a freaking stud. 5/5 from the arc...yea, that's what I like to see. Hopefully this game gets his shooting stroke on track, which I think it will. And I'm not worried about the Nuggets. They still don't play defense, and they have no one who can effectively defend our frontcourt. It SHOULD be a beatdown.
