The way the Lakers are playing makes me both anxious and worriedto get Odom back. Anxious because well, he's the second best player on the team and contribute in a whole slew of ways. However, with how well the team is playing, it makes me worry that he might mess up the chemistry. Those worries aren't too great though because Odom is probably one of the more unselfish players on the team (a great thing and bad thing all at once), so that makes me more anxious than anything, cause I think he could really help this team out and potentially make them even better than what they are.
On a game note, great game by the Lakers. I didn't get the chance to watch it tonight since it wasn't on national TV, but from the box and recap, it seems as if they played real well. Great game by Bynum from what I can see as well. The kid just needs to learn how to stay out of foul trouble and he could end up being a double double guy here soon enough.

The thing that worries me about Odom returning is the chemistry. The way they are moving the ball around is beautiful. The ball tends to stop when it gets in Odoms hands. Its like the guys are playing with such confidence that they are making quick smart decisions for the most part. I just dont want him to slow that down.

I don't think the Lakers should start Odom either right away. He hasn't played all summer recovering from his injury and the starters have such a great chemistry going right now. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
The Lakers should have Odom be the first sub off the bench to give Turiaf or Luke a breather. Let Odom run with the second unit until he gets his game legs back in shape and gets comfortable with having his shoulder get bumped around.
The 2nd unit is still a little erractic and Odom should help calm them down when they don't have the offens clicking. There were a few lapses in the Jazz game last night when the 2nd unit wasn't running the offense properly and kept taking bad shots against the shot clock. At least with Odom out there during those situations he can create off the dribble for himself or a teammate. Having another rebounder to run with the second unit would be an additional benefit of Odom coming off the bench.
