Phil Jackson is simply outcoaching JVG!!. This is the difference between good coach and a GREAT coach. It ain't the Rockets fault. Phil Jackson has outsmarted JVG, and the the Rockets look confused. Rafer is playin the stupidest ball of his career, but yet he's still in the game. Instead of feeding Yao, he's decided upon himself to jack the ball up and throw the ball away as much as possible. Things I've noticed: 1) We lost the lead as soon as the Lakers started posting up Walton in the first half. JVG elects not to bring in Bonzi, instead stayin with a 6'1 Luther Head on a 6'8 Walton 2)2nd half the Lakers front Yao, and helping with Chuck Hayes man. Usually we'll pick n roll in situation, leavin the PF open on the weakside. But JVG never adjusted. 3)Rafer gon WILD! The guy was responsible for half the turnovers in 2nd half. Yao didn't touch the often enuff in the 2nd half. All the while, the Lakers are gettin lay ups! 4)Bonzi play NO MINUTES in the first half, and starts the 2nd half JVG has been outsmarted by Phil.......
its really retarded...ez to defend the rockets when u got tmac out...just like last year and it's obviously obvious that offence runs thru yao onLY!...they just put 2 players on yao to prevent him from getting the ball and that's it...coz no others can get points...no team work offence at all...**** !

Damn we came back then lost We almost held the Lakers without a field goal there for the whole 4th quarter (til Kobe came back in) The third quarter was ugly for the Rockets tonight and SA last night. We have a nice bench.
I'm officially a JVG-Basher....I can't begin to tell you how frustrated I am. HOW IN THE HELL can you not put Yao back in the game with the game on the line. Ur down by 2, why not call a timeout and get ur most efficient player back on the floor? Instead u leave Chuck Hayes & Padgett in the game and they BRICK there free throws. Stupid Stupid Stupid! That's the difference between a great coach and a mediocore coach. The game gets close, the Lakers put their STARTIN 5 back on the floor. At the same time, we LEAVE THE SAME LINE UP OUT THERE. Why wasn't Yao on the floor when we were down 2? Damn, that hurts....
Questions of the game: What went wrong in the third quarter? Should JVG have put Yao back in the game sooner at the end?
<div class="quote_poster">Rock4life Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Why wasn't Yao on the floor when we were down 2? Damn, that hurts....</div> The lineup on the floor had just gone on a 26-1 run. They did it with energetic defense and spreading the court on offense. Putting Yao back would likely have disrupted that flow they were in. It's not the Rockets were playing well going through Yao in the third quarter.
<div class="quote_poster">durvasa Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Questions of the game: What went wrong in the third quarter?</div> The Lakers got hot. They did the same thing last night against San Antonio during the third and outscored them by 15. We missed T-Mac and Yao couldn't answer alone. <div class="quote_poster">durvasa Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> Should JVG have put Yao back in the game sooner at the end?</div> Yes.
the bench plays had their lil momentum going like nuts ...jvg prolly doesnt wana screw up the fire. what if he puts yao back and they begin to lose again...then we all will say: stupid jvg screwing up a lineup that was on fire..shoulda leave the line up alone and let it keep going. i agree jvg had got some issues in the 3rd quarter, what the hell was that...absolutely nothing good was going on the 3rd.. it was 1 of the greatest come back tho, cant blame the bench warmers for missing free throws coz those were reallly clutch ones...their effort was magnificent 2nite.. but shti we lost..

Yao shoots over 50% from the field and he's ur best free throw shooter (and we happen to lose because of free throws). When you need 1 BASKET, why wouldn't you put ur most efficient scorer and best free throw shooter in the game? You need 1 BASKET Most of the run was against there 2nd unit. When they bring their starters back in the game, then as a coach YOUR SUPPOSED TO COUNTER. Why wouldn't you have ur best defender guarding Kobe? It's little things like that seperate good coaches from great coaches. The Rockets didn't have the right personal when Phil brought back his starters. JVG tried to make statement tonight, and it backfired.
when i watched those 21-0 comeback, i was really impressed by our bench. Head acts like Tmac in the 4th quarter, 3,penetration, drew in fouls,he should become next star.guess we learned a lot from this game, don't complain how we would win the game without one star,or with the other coldhanded. The key issue is to use bench effectively, bonzi should be given more time to find his pace, novac and lucas hav proved their pontential at big moments, head and hayers certainly got positions when we need to play fast and hustle. Almost a wonderful match even we lost at last. One thing we should addressed next time is FT,if all FTs at last could turn in to pts today, it should be our greatest comeback in 4yrs.

But we got back in the game by speeding it up, playing energetically, and having a less predictable offense. Do we lose that by putting Yao back in? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Most of the run was against there 2nd unit. I think it's a toss up with 1 minute to go whether you put the starters back in. If I have a chance to tie it on an offensive possession and we need to run a set play, maybe I put Yao back in. But the way the game was going, it looked like our 2nd unit gave us a pretty good chance to win They just came up short in the last minute.
putting yao back in the last min couldn't work out, he is obvious not the team's answer today, lack of energy without attak & def rythem. frankly to say, i think coach needs to think seriously about a small sized starting lineup. Note when yao is on court ,he couldn't stop those pfs with good shootings just because of pickup and rolls. even worse, he didn't protect or attack rim smarter when looks fatigue. So at this stage, esp when tmac still couldn't get rid of his back, yao could possibly become our strongest point both of off and def, on the other hand, he is high likely to be our weakest point both of off and def cuz in some cases, yao could dominate on one-one def and shot at 50% or higher, bt as he losing stamina during the match, the shooting percentage went down signficanty and all TOs,fouls suddenly blow out which disrupt our original slow pace. one-core stragetic became no core,inside-out turn to bad passes. this is van gundy's work to sort out bf we re given full credit as a 100% contender
