I agree, especially with how we played the spurs tonight! All those open shots! the magic are a great perimeter team and i wouldnt be surprised if a similar scenario happens on friday.
Hilarious hahaha thanks! BTW, Mamba... if only this weren't a forum and we'd be talking face to face... how i'd wish... you've been on my case from the get go...
ESPN is replaying the game. At 2:33 left in the 4th, Tim Duncan lost the ball, then dove on it, Lamar went to grab it, and both guys have their hands on it. The ref goes up to them, stares, then calls that Spurs called timeout. *sigh* That foul on Mason isn't a call they normally make at the end of games, and they decide to do it now. Then Trevor got tripped, but they called the travel instead, not to mention the elbow that he took. At the last minute of the game, I think Kobe should handle everything, be it pass or shot. I also think Kobe does a better job playing point, or at least as the main ball handler than Fisher does. I really liked the lineup with Kobe at point and Trevor at the two guard.
I really liked Kobe at the point too. One good thing to take out of this is Josh Powell and the depth he gives us on the block. Kobe-Ariza-Odom-Powell-Gasol really did some damage to the Spurs, hopefully we get to see that more against the Magic and Cavs.
I completely forgot about that play, but you're right it was ridiculous. That call got Pjax off his seat and in the face of the officials. What sucks is this was one of the best NBA games we've seen in awhile and the only thing people are focusing on are the officials and how they contaminated the results.
In that aspect, I got the benefit of only hearing the radio most of the game haha. That and I'm fuming from my sunday loss by 2. My team lost on a game winning fast break layup, but I have the video of the game and there were so many things wrong with the reffing. First of all, the ref ACTUALLY asked the coaches if 1 and 1 was at 10 or 7 fouls. I mean you get paid to ref, you SHOULD know. I don't get paid to coach, and I know. Then on one inbound play, the other team inbounded it, but turned it over by throwing it out of bounds. But the ref said, "Did the coach call timeout before the turnover?". And I yelled at him saying, once you let the ball inbound, that's that. But no, they grant them the timeout. THEN after we score to tie the game at the 51 sec. mark, it was not a dead ball, but the ref stopped the clock to ask the scorekeeper that he should be stopping the clock if the game is within 10pts in the 4th quarter. Then when they stole the ball from us, my player was double teamed, and one of the players doubling, had BOTH arms grabbing my player and ripped his arm back, while the other teammate took the ball, no foul. After they make the fast break layup, there was about 5sec. left. I tried calling a timeout, but they said I had no time to, and that the clock should keep running cause that is what they do in high school. Which they aren't wrong, but if they just WHISTLED to stop the clock after a score, kinda like the layup, why won't they stop it for us. The refs left the gym RIGHT after the game ended, and I chucked a ball at the door they exited from. Pissed off from that shit.
Lulz, I totally get you. The refs who whistle youth games are just ridicilous. I have had plenty of those moments myself.
