Well I went to the game the other night and there were some things I noticed 1. Stromile Swift really really REALLY doesn't have any idea what he's doing when he's on the floor......from falling for pump fakes, to keeping the ball low by his waist while he's in the post (only to get it stripped away), to not playing any defense....the man is horrible..I'm starting to believe the only reason why he has a good game everynow and then is because he's in the right place at the right time. 2. JVG really needs to watch his substitution patterns......I wanted to see Chuck Hayes all night, but Jeff didn't decide to put him in until the 4th quarter 3. Don't let the stats fool you the Rockets defense is horrible.....slow to rotate, slow at getting back on defense.....I know JVG teams are recognized for their defense, but this team is bad defensively 4. Our fans suck.....I was sitting up in the high levels, but the fans in the lower part of Toyota Center were leaving when we were only down by 6 with 6 minutes to go in the 4th.......Toyota Center fans = Pathetic. 5. Brunson shouldn't be in the NBA....I seriously don't know why we let JB go for this trash. Okay I'm done, I just needed to get that out.

Obviously, we have weaknesses on the defensive end which can be exploited by some teams, but overall we are one of the best defensive teams in the league in terms of points give up per possession (which is the logical way to assess overall defensive performance). Unless you feel we've been very fortunate in playing teams who've just stunk it up on the offense end against us, the numbers do show that we've been pretty good defensively. JVG's defensive philosophy is sound, in general. Protect the lane through help defense, and run back to prevent layups in transition. But for teams that thrive on outside shooting, the strategy can backfire unless we're able to slow down their passes or make the rotations really fast.
Mavs going to win this because the rockets have been playing sorry this year. Something is worng i don't think the new Pg from the reptors helped much but the reptors are doing better now
