Nobody's really mentioning it, but Lawrence Frank did a hell of a coaching job today. He called timeouts at the right time and was able to answer every one of Toronto's runs. And his defensive adjustments were great. The Raps couldn't solve that zone defense in the 2nd quarter. Got to give major credit to him. That said, Vince Carter played like a wimp. He just can't handle our crowd and we got Game 2.
This shows the inexperience in the Raptor team.. They did not foul quick enough and they took a three when down 4, they really should have drove on that play. But, Overall good game by both teams. It was very entertaining. The Nets steal homecourt, but i still see the Raptors winning this series.
<div class="quote_poster">Iggy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">That's why you put Nets in 6 in your sig area.... Raptors WILL NOT get sweeped. First playoff game for a lot of our youngsters. and they're just getting comfortable. Bosh seemed lost after getting into foul trouble early on, but he picked it up in the 4th. If we play Next game with the intensity we had to come back in this game, then its ours.</div> That was my prediction before the start of the series. After watching game 1, I am confident it won't go to 6 games. I think the Nets take game 2, it is going to be a close game, but then come back to Jersey and finish it off. The Raps are a good young team, but that's my opinion.

Toronto will take game 2, win a game in New Jersey, but will wrap the whole thing up in Jersey for game 6. To be honest, they missed alot of shots in game 1 and that won't happen again, because we're a higher percentage shooting team than what was presented today. Don't get me wrong, it's going to go down to the wire, but the Raps will figure it out and dispose of the Nets in 6.

When he was in the game, Raptors had a few good runs where they were close to tying it up.
Well Vince wont play like he did today for the rest of the series and we still won the game. Imagine if Vince played as great as he has for the last month, RJ played as well as he did today, Kidd played as well as he did today, and the bench plays as well as they did today, then we could win the series easliy despite the fact that the Raptors will be shooting better.
At the same time, you have to realize that the Raptors played nothing like they have since January. They turned the ball over a lot, when they're usually pretty careful. Bosh had foul trouble when he usually plays most of the game. And they had an uncharacteristically bad shooting night. Its not so much a case of playing better as it playing like their own game. I expect both Toronto and VC to bounce back. Game 2 should be good.

I think the fastbreak points from the Nets was the game turner other then Bosh on the bench.

Or maybe even like the K-Mart days. If we play the running style, I'm sure we woulld get far in the playoffs.
You guys have to know that the Raptors were not playing our style of basketball in the first 3 quarters, for many of them, this was their first playoff game, and now that they've gotten that out of the way like they did in the 4th we'll be back to playing like the Raptors. Everybody was missing shots, mental mistakes which don't usually happen, and turnovers, we're at the top of the league in turnovers, so we usually don't give up much, overall, we just weren't ourselves. Once we get our shooters to stick their shots like they usually do, and get Bosh to play like he did in the 4th, we have this series.

They played a great game, despite the fact that VC struggled. My point is that the main reason you guys won is because of all the fast break points off our turnovers. That was really uncharacteristic of the Raptors. They average like 12 turnovers a game and had reached that mark by the end of the first half. A point guard like Jason Kidd will exploit that over and over again. All I'm saying is don't expect the Raps to come out like that in Game 2. They're a better fast break team than the Nets and I expect them to show that on Tuesday.
I think Vince will blow up and score about 40+ points in game 2. But, RJ will have a tough game. Hope I'm wrong about the Jefferson thing though. GO NETS!!!
Toronto's style takes care of fast break points too, but something wasn't right. Our inexperienced showed in the game because it was our first playoff game. Jason Kidd did say it was going to be a long series and he's right. First off, Toronto looked hesitant on almost every possession. The most unhesitant and most unnoteworthy point was Parker signalling to Bosh to pass up the hook for the 3 off in the corner and Bosh responded. I really feel also that because of the loudness of the playoffs and the fans that Toronto wasn't able to communicate as well, but that will be changed for game two. Toronto does not play hesitant and I think they put it together for the fourth quarter, so Jersey, wants Toronto figures it out and it won't take long, y'all are going to lose this series in 6 games. By the way, we're coming to Jersey and taking both games away from you.
