Bynum gives up on rebounds too, easily and hasn't learned how to judge misses. Howard new long shots would lead to long misses and he created a lot of 2nd chance opportunities for the Magic running out after long misses. Bynum tends to stand in one spot when the shot goes up and only gets the board if the ball comes directly to him. Last year he was active chasing rebounds down and snatching them above the rim. This year he's been rebounding the way Shaq did when he played with the Lakers. He was a piss poor rebounder for his size because Shaq would only grab boards in his general area. Bynum needs to get excited again about doing the little things. It starts with rebounding.

Wow, Avery Johnson is on crack. The Celtics are hardly the best team in the NBA this year. I realize they're still good and all, but I'll take the Magic and the Lakers over them, and maybe even the Cavs. The Celtics don't have the depth for me to look at them as #1, and they haven't played with as much intensity this year either.

Sorry...just ranting about Johnson's idiocy on Sportscenter.

Ah and just to publicly clarify, I was saying Lost One makes funnier game threads compared to mine, you didn't even come to mind when I was forming that statement. No need to trouble yourself. :]

    Oh and btw,

Kobe had a triple double today.

Too bad it was shadowed by the loss.

Two games in a row Kobe has terrific games, two games in a row nobody else steps up. Two games in a row we lose.

    Ugh

    Starting to sound like 2006.

If we beat the Cavs I'll feel much better about these last two losses.

See my post in the last game thread about your 3 game losing streak and the end of the world.

Tough loss to swallow. I'm over Derek Fisher. He should have retired last year. He constantly gets burned on the pick and roll, causing Drew, Pau or another big to come out and take his man. I'm sick of seeing Bynum guarding the perimeter. And people wonder why Drew isn't grabbing boards. It is kind of hard to grab boards from the 3 point line. I really do hope this is Fisher's last year. How can a team so stacked in the front court, the bench, and with Kobe not have a serviceable PG? Pathetic.

Again, the referees swallowed their whistle at the end of the game on Kobe. He got absolutely hammered by Howard, but no foul call. I don't get it. I think it is because Kobe, Drew, Fisher, Pau, and Odom bitch to the refs throughout the game. If they would shut up, maybe they would get some more calls their way.

I'm not convinced by the Magic, even though they took the season series from us. They live by the three. If you live by it, eventually you die by it.

Andrew Bynum needs to learn how to play like a big man for 48 minutes......he was M.I.A. after the 1st half. Kobe missed some shots down the stretch, but I wouldn't worry about that, because he normally makes those. Odom actually showed signs of life last night so that's a positive to take from the game if you're a lakers fan.

But Orlando is for real. Jameer Nelson is playing out of his mind right now and that changes the entire dynamic of that team. Howard is improving on his post up moves as well........I enjoyed seeing he and Kobe jaw at each other, lol

I told myself the same thing last night, but watching them play I think they are for real. The rockets in '94 lived and died by the 3, but the problem for opponents was that there were multiple guys who could knock down the open 3 point J. One night it might be Kenny, the next Horry, Sam, Elie, Maxwell, Bullard, etc. When you have so many shooters chances are someones gonna be hot to take the load off of everyone else. But Jameer can get to the paint and Howard is beasting down low, so they do have that classic inside and out game.

I think the Magic have more competition in the East anyway, and the Lakers have the edge as far as record is concerned because of how deep our conference is. The only thing that continues to bother me is this half-assed PG production we're getting.

Yea, i DID MENTION A 3 game losing streak but i also DID NOT MENTION the end of the world!

I remember what i said, i stated "i hate to say it guys but we could potentially have a 3 game losing streak" or something like that... Did i say this was the end???

How the hell do you want me to react to the notion of a 3 game losing streak when before the season started we were thinking 60+ - 70+ wins with our stacked lineup??? A CHAMPIONSHIP team does not lose 3 in a row like how we lost... Yea we stayed in the game, but we basically handed the W's on a silver platter with the way we defended.

Now, our next game is, IMO against a legit title contender in Cleveland (you're not convinced??? What does it tack to get you guys back down to earth? They beat, sorry let me correct myself, they BLEW OUT BOSTON, NO 2x, Dallas, Houston and Denver) ... AND their game is ANCHORED on Defense and everyone knows they can score... Now if the best we can do is what we brought in the games against SA and Orl and the Lakers don't do anything about it then we definitely have a major problem on our hands that will come back to haunt us come playoff time.

Oh and BTW, they've probably figured out how we can be easily beaten... stop Kobe, and they have a more than able body in LBJ to do that... heck they could even put big Ben on Kobe. So i wouldn't at all be surprised if we get beaten (with respect to how we are playing) and Kobe badly struggles on the floor that day for trying to do too much.

A Championship team can easily have a three game losing streak to three great teams. We don't have to aim for 65 wins this season, just get the job done when it matters. Fact is we have the best record in the league and the Magic didn't exactly blow us out. They need to worry about getting to the Finals if anything, because they appear to have more comparable competition at the top of their conference.

^ i just hope its the other way around this year...

All the competition in the West (LAL, NOH, SA, PHX, UTAH, etc) and the East was being looked down on... and look what happens. 2007-08 champions are from the East.

But it wouldn't hurt to get that home court advantage all through out the playoffs and finals.
