He would get killed on defense too go against quicker guards. You guys do need a 2 guard. I suggest you a) resign Rasual Butler and have him play the 2, and then try to go after Bonzi Wells, Flip Murray, Fred Jones, or DeShawn Stephenson. Then Desmond Mason could back up Peja, and it would work out pretty well that way. If they could do that then I bet they could get a potential 5-8 playoff seed in the West..</div> Desmond Mason is a much better player than Butler is...Why would Desmond come off the bench?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Yeah Vinicius was a solid pick, I like him too. But is he really going to be ready for consistant backup minutes? I'm not so sure of that.</div> I think Hornets are a team that can let him play backup minutes for them, he's not a bad guy to have come off the bench as the 4th swing behind Mason, Peja and Butler.
butler agreed to terms last night with the hornets and Marcus Vinicius might stay overseas and hes a 3 but can play the 2 or 4

Stevenson wouldn't help the shooting game but he would make them more athletic and he brings a defensive presence. Those are the top 2 guys I think this club should go after.</div>I believe Wesley as agreed to terms with the Cavs. I think Steveson would be nice, they have good shooting already. Steveson would bring good D off the bench behind Mason at the 2. I don't know if the Hornets wanna spend the kind of money he is asking for though. Bogans would have been perfect for them, but the Magic beat them to it. I am not sure but I don't think Ariza has agreed to anything with the Magic yet. Eddie House and Tony Delk are both combo guards much like the afore mentioned Wesley. Jumaine Jones would bring good shooting and D to the 2/3 spot. But I think the perfect fit for them is to try to make some kind of move to get Delfino, he would be just the kinda role player they need.
Does it really matter if its called a 2 or a 3???As of now our starting line up is thisTyson Chandler, David West, Chris Paul, Desmond Mason, Peja Stojacovic.Call them 1 - 5 in that order if you want.
Yes, there's a difference between a guard and a forward. If you dont see that, you dont watch basketball..
I do watch basketball, and you should know that a guard can play a forwards position and vice versa. If you dont know that then you dont watch basketball

But I see what you mean about it not mattering if he is called a 2 or 3. If Mason is their best perimeter defender, he will guard the opposing teams best perimeter player. And if Peja is the Hornets best perimeter offensive player, then the opposing teams best defensive wing will guard him, wether or not that player is a 2 or 3 doesn't matter. But in the end, when it comes down to it I think Mason is their starting 2.
