Just to make sure we all understand the reality, not the propaganda:

You have about a 1/12,000,000 chance of being shot in a mass shooting.

A far more likely death for you would be bee sting, tripping, falling, lightning strike, food poisoning, dog attack, car accident, sports accident, hypothermia, disease...

Obviously the way to end suicide is to make it a death penalty offense. If you kill yourself we will execute you! The nice thing about this is they're already dead so there won't be any of those stupid lengthy and costly appeals.

All of those are self inflicted, a choice you made yourself, accept maybe the dog attack.

A true American wouldn't ever commit suicide! Show me 1 single TRUE American who killed themselves, and I'll show you someone who is a fake American and not a real one like me!

Misdemeanor domestic violence convictions? Sounds unconstitutional to me. I know a guy who held his wife down in Washington state and made her try and get free. When she got free she called the police. There were no witnesses so when the cops came SHE was arrested because he had scratches that bled and she had no visible wounds.

They have to arrest someone at every domestic call they go to so this is what happened.

Luckily the DA talked to her for 5 seconds and dropped all the ridiculous charges.

Nearly all mass shootings and most domestic-abuse shootings are perpetrated by a hate-filled, suicidal person who afterwards commits suicide if allowed to.

If there was only some way to convince them to kill themselves first, then shoot everybody...

Getting shot at school is a choice too if that's the case. They live in America, they could have moved. Their choice.

    None of those are choices.

They are all beyond your control, unless you're suggesting living in a bubble in your closet.

Not the same. If I play football, I chose to play a game where i could get hurt. If I go out to the desert in December and I'm under dressed, I chose to do that.

If I chose to go to school, I chose to get an education.

We could make them read the RipCityTwo Off Topic section, if that won't make most want to put a bullet in their head I don't know what will.

Not all of them are. They're false equivalences.

College students/teachers are roughly 80% gun-control extremists and their elected representatives have bowed to their demands that schools be defenseless shooting galleries for psychos. You reap what you sow.

I avoid so-called gun free zones, schools, malls, like the plague.

I feel safer walking through a ghetto at 2 am than I do shopping at the Lloyd Center.

That is the result of gun control hysteria in America.

You know, guns aren't even a top 9 cause of death in the USA!

I don't know why people want to do anything about it!
These are the top 9 causes of death.

    Heart disease
    Cancer (malignant neoplasms)
    Chronic lower respiratory disease
    Accidents (unintentional injuries)
    Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases)
    Alzheimer's disease
    Diabetes (diabetes mellitus)
    Influenza and pneumonia
Kidney disease (nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis)

Each more deaths than that by a gun. So we should do nothing. Reality folks!

Talk about a nonsensical comment. Besides the fact you would never do it, most people (if not all) are ASLEEP at 2 AM, so why are you comparing apples to movies of the 1920's?

Of course you would pick one of the few that could be argued is the person's fault. Not food poisoning or tripping. If those are choices that can kill you, so is living here.

He doesn't know, so he blogs his ignorance.

    The author:

Arthur Chu (born January 30, 1984) is an American game show contestant and columnist. He is known for his unusual playing style on the U.S. syndicated game show Jeopardy!. Chu attracted criticism from many, mainly for jumping from category to category rather than selecting clues in sequential order, a strategy known as the "Forrest Bounce", after former champion Chuck Forrest. After winning 11 games, he lost his 12th game, which aired on March 12, 2014, to Diana Peloquin. Chu is the fourth highest-earning Jeopardy! champion in non-tournament gameplay, with a grand total of $298,200. Chu also won an additional $100,000 for taking second place in the 2014 Tournament of Champions.

Chu has used his fame from appearing on Jeopardy! to speak out publicly on issues that are important to him. He has become a columnist and Internet commentator, and currently writes for The Daily Beast and Salon on various issues, including racism and sexism in "nerd culture".

After his appearance on Jeopardy!, Chu contacted publicists and PR firms to ask for suggestions on how to monetize the recognition from his Jeopardy! run. However, he found the proposals unappealing, and did not follow suggestions that he use the "successful" "game theorist" image.[26][27] Instead, he started writing a column for The Daily Beast,[8] and later for Salon.[28] Chu has written on various aspects of nerd culture and on being Asian American. He is a vocal critic of racism and online bullying, and is known for his opposition to the Gamergate movement.

I wasn't posting it to prove a point (he was a little extreme and knee jerk in his wording), but just a point of view.

If Mags can post horse shit and claim he doesn't believe it 100%, so can I.

do you know what false equivalences means?

Each one of those things involves doing something that is related to the result. Walking near a dog, being near a dog, eating food at a restaurant, etc..

Going to college, you don't think "oh hey, I sure hope I don't get shot today"
