<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>We just saw today why gun control in America should be stricter.</div>No we just saw what a nutcase can do with a gun. had he wanted to he could have killed everyone with propaine bombs, he just chose a gun. also, gun control isn't going to stop the criminal element from commiting these crimes; criminals will still get guns illegally. Guns are the second most illegally imported thing in the US, if tighter gun control is inforced the number of illegal guns in this country will skyrocket. I for one would rather have lots of legal guns, than lots of illegal guns, because legal guns are tracable, illegal ones usually aren't.

How the F*ck would he get propane bombs though genius? Nobody's going to think of that. If guns aren't sold for recreational use, this'd all be different, and I guarantee not as bad.

Propaine is easier to buy and cheaper than guns. and speaking strictly from my schools campus, it wouldn't be hard nor very odd to see someone bringing in propaine, or even natural gas. college campus's have hundreds of people comming and going every day, bringing in all sorts of things.A lot of people think about ways to carry out massive attacks, hell the pentagon pays nutcases to plan attacks. this guy obviously planned to carry out this attack, and if he wanted to he could have used other methoods. banning guns isn't going to stop the violence, it's just going to give it another form.
Do you gun supporters realize how easy it was for this guy to get the guns? All you have to do is be over 18 I believe, and you can purchase one gun per month. There are NO RESTRICTIONS AT ALL in Virginia.

If you took a 3rd century Arch, and a skilled person with a gun today, and had them both fire at the same target, the archer is going to be as accurant as the gunslinger. it really isn't the technology, it's the user. if there were no guns, people would begin to use knifes, axes, bows and arrows ect to replace their guns.

This was a planned attack. And the point he was trying to make with the bombs is if the person wanted to hurt people, they could even without guns. So I don't see it out of the ordinary for those folks to learn how to make bombs and carry out their attack. I don't know why you say normal people because normal people aren't the ones killing one another.
Larry King had a criminal profiler on tonight, and the gun control issue came up, and she basicly said that he was going to kill people with a gun or not. She noted it defiently wouldnt have been 33 murders, but if somebody wants to kill people or in this guys case, just doesn't care, he can can do it without guns. I saw a post by Mardy stating this is why gun control should be stricter, and I have to say I agree. I know this guy had a clean record, but it being stricter could prevent alotve shootings. Do better background checks, maybe make a gun license stricter. But guns still shouldnt be banned...

He'd a been lucky to kill one person before he was takin down. If the guy has 3 guns and hundrends of ammo forget it...it's over. You can't protect yourself. Unless you agree with the captain...just give everybody a gun.
No, as I noted, he wouldnt have killed as many people, but with a knife, he couldve atleast injured 5 people(which is ALOT better than killing 32). But he wouldve probably still killed people. These things are going to happen, but I think in the long run, it protects more than people realize.

Its not because the British are less aggro, trust me.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I'm sorry but thats bull.</div>It's bull in that there will never be no guns. There will always be guns, you give some person the right materials and you got yourself a gun. And with gun control, it still doesn't stop such things as happening. There are ways to getting around gun control. And sh*t like this shooting will continue to happen. People just need to realize that. Not trying to put the conversation off topic but this blame game is really stupid towards the police. Honestly, if you expect a city sized environment to be lockdowned in ample time and with commuters coming through still, it's impossible. And I learned today, only 9,000 live on campus. How do you expect to get word to those commuters?
