    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TheBeef)</div><div class='quotemain'>I happen to think Terrell Davis should get in....his career totals are very similar to Gale Sayers, who also had his career cut short....Davis was the best back in the league for a few years, which contributed to back-to-back titles, he broke the 2000 yard plateau as well....</div>

    My contention, is while sayers had his career cut short, he came back after the injury to rush for 1000 yards. He came back, he just no longer had the staying power. His courage and perseverance is inspirational.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pack Attack)</div><div class='quotemain'>This was Irvin's first year of eligibility... I don't think they snubbed him. I just think Marino and Young deserved nods first. Irvin will get in within five years.</div>

    I agree. Few WRs get in first year...right or wrong. And they don't need to hold the drugs against Irvin. They have the Cowboys bias first.

    FWIW, I think Sharpe was every bit as good of a player as Irvin. Hard to tell if he was better, but they were both good. I'm just not sure if Sharpe had a long enough career to be considered, especially without rings or anything else to push him through. Sad, but probably true. The Sayers choice should not set a hard precendence.

    Of course, I'd take Sharpe before a lot of players currently already enshrined.

    How about Defense? I could make the case for the following:

    Charles Haley.......5 rings 'nuff said
    Richard Dent.........if Hampton is in, this is obvious
    Clyde Simmons.....don't laugh, look were he was at after he retired on the all-time sack list

    Cornelious Bennett....set up base camp in Honolulu, 4 Super Bowl appereances
    Pat Swilling.......probably the best of the 4 LB's NO had (and they were all good).
    Hardy Nickerson.....yeah this is a weak one but he was on a bad team, or as BF1 might have you believe, he had future HOF'er Vinny to help him.
    Ray Childress......5 time Pro Bowler on a pretty bad D-fense in Houston.

    Chew on this for awhile.........

    Charles Haley.......5 rings 'nuff said -
    >>>97 sacks and 5 rings, and 5 probowls. He warrants consideration
    Richard Dent.........if Hampton is in, this is obvious
    >>>>137 sacks should do it
    Clyde Simmons.....don't laugh, look were he was at after he retired on the all-time sack list
    >>>121 sacks. Definately

    Cornelious Bennett....set up base camp in Honolulu, 4 Super Bowl appereances
    >>> definately should be coonsidered
    Pat Swilling.......probably the best of the 4 LB's NO had (and they were all good).
    >>> Warrants consideration
    Hardy Nickerson.....yeah this is a weak one but he was on a bad team, or as BF1 might have you believe, he had future HOF'er Vinny to help him.
    >>> He should get in.
    Ray Childress......5 time Pro Bowler on a pretty bad D-fense in Houston.
    >>> plus he runs a fine nascar team [IMG]

    Holy smokes BF1! Not even one disagreement? Your letting me down a bit, this is the second time we're agreeing on something in the same month.
