Happy birthday Dame…. Sure wish you would reconsider, mentor our young studs and try to win one in the twilight of your career as a hometown hero. Not someone who preaches loyalty and then handcuffs the team with trade demands around extremely narrow parameters. You really hurt me bro. I became a season ticket holder, in part because of you. I wanted to watch you grow with your family in my beloved city and retire from my favorite team. Ive collected every bobble head i could find of you. I have framed, both of your playoff series winning closeout shots. I have several of your jerseys. I became loyal to you as much as I am my favorite team. You were the reason I would still attend a game with a predicted loss against a superior team. Yeah, odds are we will lose, but with Dame we cant be counted out and the odds of seeing something special were good! I get that priorities in ones life can change, causing previous statements of ones path needing to be backtracked on, but the way you have done it, hamstringing the franchise to likely get less than fair value back for you, is not a good out and has left me scarred. I get you may no longer be happy with the apparent direction management and ownership seem to be taking, but why burn the bridge down on the way out? I love you Dame, but my respect for you has taken a hit. I do wish you a happy birthday and the best of luck in the new era in your life, just remember this one thing… I, and likely the collective Blazers fanbase, hope you get your ass handed to you when we see you across the court!!!
My first born son was born on Thursday. Child birth is truly a miracle and I am beyond grateful. It is with that feeling that I wish Dame a happy birthday. Glad my future trailblazers point guard doesn't share his birthday with a sellout though.
