I'm kind of glad that I won't have to hear our commentator refer to our franchise player, all star, and potentially one of the best Blazers ever as "Damon". Don't get me wrong, I like the mikes. I guess what I'm saying is that I can totally understand why this change was made.
Hurd knows the game and that what I was looking for right from the start. But I am person to give people chances before I give a opinion.
I think if he gets thrown out of a game this season by the refs that it will lessen the sting of losing the wild one.
I'm pleased with the selections to replace the Mikes. I'm still furious with the decision to replace the Mikes.
I want my broadcast team to teach me how to pronounce players names for a change....for this reason alone I'm thrilled with the changeover and I appreciate the Mike and Mike show for what it was....a big part of my Blazer experience...I hope they stick around in some other capacity ....take over Talkin' Ball at least..both would be a huge upgrade over Daddy Warbucks
Ill miss the Mikes and their quirkiness/homer status but I'm guessing by Christmas I won't care and will enjoy our more "professional" broadcast.
I'll always respect Rice's knowledge of the game and Barrett's optimism....but I still think we upgraded big time
I basically just want to see what kind of chemistry he develops with Calabro. I've heard both of them at different points of time. But I'm sure it will become a unique experience just like Mike and Mike WERE. Sighs.....
