From ze Germans: 1860 is operating in tents, and willing to let Cooper go, because they are in a bit of a financial crisis. Cooper is looking to leave because he started well, then fell out of favor, then hurt his ankle and hasn't been a factor since. At the time that he left for Germany, he was a fringe player for the US, but with their struggles up top, he could have played himself into South Africa, like Findley and Buddle did with strong starts in MLS. Cooper had a strong three years with FC Dallas after returning to the States from England, where he was a part of the Manchester United reserves. He scored 40 goals in 90 appearances with Dallas. Despite being 6'3", he's not a target man who likes to stay parked in the middle. Cooper does most of his damage attacking in from the wings as he has a good touch on the ball and a strong shot from distance. He'll open up space for a target like Bright Dike in the middle and score a fair share of his own. He was at ManU at the same time as Eddie Johnson, though neither appeared with the senior squad and spent most of their time together on loan to different clubs.
I think I would be quite happy with Cooper as a signing. Catch me up Agoo would this be the allocation order deal?
Allocation order for returning National Team players. Vancouver was first, but they took Jay DeMerit, so Portland is on top of the list.
