OKC would be the best place for him. With Ilyasova and Singler their only SF's, Durant's departure has left a gaping hole that a young athletic guy with tons of potential would fill nicely.

I agree, but I don't think they'll do anything until they get the issue of Westbrook and the possibility of an extension off of their plate. If Westbrook tells them he's not going to sign an extension, then I could definitely see them making a play for Harkless.

Well, at least until Meyers comes back and resumes starting at PF.

Roy was significantly more efficient alongside Blake than he was alongside Miller.

Because he was a diva who refused to run off a screen or ever cut back door. I think the trade off in efficiency for our bigs and forwards (especially Aldridge and Batum) was well worth any drop-off for Roy.

The discussion has been to sign here for a year, or take an offer somewhere else. That other offer would be multi year. This has been a hypothetical discussion. No reason to sign for 1 year here if he has multi years elsewhere.

There absolutely is. As others have noted, he may not develop under another system like he would here. so in another year, he would be even more valuable to make even more money that the current hypothetical.

Again, If he wasn't willing to take a chance, he would just sign the QO, but you have to take a chance to hit it big most of the time, and that is what he is doing. Basically doing what Leonard did last year. Betting on himself.

Just wow. Some of you are really crazy.

    Leonard lost his bet though

He could develop behind, 2-3 people ahead of him. He also may not. He could develop more on a different team with more playing time. He also may not. So why not take the guaranteed money somewhere else?

Again... Who else has guaranteed him anything?

Leonard bet on himself, but to say he lost is a bit vague. He lost out on some money by not extending, but he still got a four year deal in double digit millions per year.

NO ONE IS GUARANTEEING HIM ANYTHING. It was a hypothetical question from someone. He would NOT be better off signing a qualifying offer from us over a multi year, multi million dollar deal.

It is arguable that his market value was depressed due to his RFA status. If the best he can get this summer is, say, 27M over 3 years, there is definitely a very good chance that he would be able to command much more than that next summer as a UFA.

Sure, but I was going off the list of who has the cap space to make him a big offer.

An incomplete list apparently, because OKC has over $12M in cap space since renouncing Waiters.

Wouldn't that be the case 3 years from now after he got 27 million?

Sure, but if a year after playing for a measly 4.1 million, he signs a deal starting at 11M instead of 9M, then he's likely to come out ahead overall after all is said and done.
