I have a feeling that Mo is gone either after this year (if he takes the QO) or as soon as this summer (if someone throws him an offer). The tax ramifications basically made it a he or Crabbe decision and the front office has chosen Crabbe. So we aren't going to match anything that is over 10 MIL per imo.

It makes me a little said. I went into this as Mo being the one I wanted to keep the most out of the 3 (with Crabbe second) but I also understand why POR did this. They almost had to.

I think he will stay for one more year at least, we only got him for a 2nd round pick last year and I really don't think he will get a huge offer this Summer. I want us to keep him but honestly not sure how that would work from 2017-18 onwards, we cannot really let him go either because that'd make us very short in small forward position. We really ought to trade some of our bigs for SF/PF, right? We have 4 centers!

I think we re-sign Harkless and then bank on a massive consolidation trade.

Love me some Harkless. Great size, versatility, upside at his age and his skill set is valuable in this league. Its a no-brainer you have to re-sign him.

    FWIW....

Lakers and Nets have been rumored to be considering an offer for Harkless but nothing yet. Nets have a ton of cap space and no one to spend it on.

We all joked about it, but would anyone really be surprised if Brooklyn gave him the same deal they gave Crabbe?

I don't think they need Harkless like they needed Crabbe. It'd be money poorly spent, they'd be better off if they kept money and absorbed some poor contracts across the league for picks.

The deal was ridiculous for Crabbe, but even more so for Harkless. They can have him if that's the case.

Maybe they don't offer 75, but would we match at 15 a year?

Matching Crabbe even with the large salary and trade kicker was a Fuck You move by Allen. I think he's effectively shut down the market on Harkless this summer.

Harkless won't go to BRK for two reasons

    1) Their assistant coach Jaque Vaughn
    2) They already have RHJ. Crabbe would have fit better, Hark is RHJ (or what they hope RHJ can be)

I think he sign either the remaining cap space for 2 years or take the QO.

Just how long do other clubs have to make offers on restricted free agents? Is there any kind of time limit or is it until they are signed by their original team?

I think the QO is on the table for as long as the team wants it to be. Harkless can't play a game with another team or us until he signs either the QO or an offer sheet.

I think he can take a year off and come back a UFA.

    Didn't Josh Childress do that?
